He's training with their U21s. Warren Joyce to decide if they want to sign him.

Another cracking idea.... Let's send our starlets out on trial. If they decide not to buy him then other clubs will think he's not so special too.

Come on Barnsley. Let's act like a proper club. "£3m price tag. Buy him or lose him to one of the other clubs".

This is a club that paid £7m for Bebe. A bloke who was homeless a couple of years before they signed him. And then found out he was truly woeful. Yet we will just hand them our Crown Jewels.

If it's true and he hasn't won the experience in a bag of iced gems then we certainly need to start upping what we will take.

Good on him - happy for the lad, just hope the club get a reasonable offer and obviously good sell on / games played / england call up fees tied up in the sale contract.

He's at the best of the big clubs for spotting and nurturing English talent at the moment (in my opinion)

Id have agreed with you under Fergie but definitely not now. Arsenal and Liverpool are much better places for youngsters to go atm.

If they still had Sir Alex as manager i'd agree. Since then though they are onto their second manager of throwing big money at foreign players and seemingly not trying to bring through youth players. Case in point the other season when James Wilson was played by Giggs instead of Rooney and RVP and he scored twice on debut. Last season he should have been brought on from that as he's a really good talent. Instead he's still looking like a long term fringe player if he stays there.

If he goes to Man united. We woiuld after ask for a bigger fee upfront because a sell on clause would mean **** all there. He would end up being released for free. 500k to 1m is peanuts to most prem teams but some will care more about spending it.

Didnt we do this with RNL and they sent him back

Now we're talking. £2m, Pearson and 20% sell on.

Thats minimum we should expect. Pearson will go on to be the better player. in my opinion. Which is normally wrong

As someone said a sell on would be useless if he went to Man Utd. I'd be looking for £4m minimum although if he went to Villa £1.5m+ with a 25% sell on.

I think we'd be lucky to get a straight swap deal for Pearson tbh.

Can't see him wanting to commit to us anyhow. I'd be surprised if there wasn't Championship interest.

I'm bored of Mason Holgate, but ... here are my thoughts:

    (1) I hope his Agent gets bum AIDS
    (2) If all we can get is £500k & a sell on from Man Utd ... I'd keep him for the last year of his contract
    (3) If Mason is too thick to realise that players such as Stones sign a contract & then get sold on for the benefit of all ... then he's going to struggle
    (4) Looking at the other people his Agent represents ... it's clearly no surprise what's happening
    (5) He's the first ever BFC youngster who I want to leave the club & fail
    (6) If he ever comes back to Oakwell his reception will be as warm as Jay's Missus (not very hot at all)
    (7) Who the **** does he think he is?
    (8) I hate football so much
    (9) Can we talk about something else?
    (10) I can't think of anything else to say

    Not everything is about money.
Don't try that with a hooker though.
