That's an interesting article and it reads like Chelsea won't give up until they've got their man however as I've said in other posts the benchmark here is not Rio Ferdinand, no if Chelsea valued Luiz at £50m then to offer £20m for Stones is an insult. They set the benchmark so if I was the Everton chairman I would be reminding them about the 'sideshow Bob' transfer in every single conversation I had with them.
When Mourinho wants a player he doesn't give up on getting him. And he's Evertons most important player so i still cant see them wanting below 35m.
Agreed. It's not just his current ability, it's the potential of being a world class defender and the probability of becoming an England regular
Is it ****. It's how he looked in the background on Barnsley player on a 15 inch laptop. Evertons copy of excellent hasnt been activated so they've got no way of knowing his true ability
Surely PSG valued him at 50m? They paid it. And that was quite clearly a ridiculous valuation. A more appropriate barometer IMO would be the 32.5m paid by City last year for Mangala, and I think Everton have alluded to that being the starting point for negotiations.
The fee will be 30 million plus what they owe us, so at 10% it will be 33 mil, 15% - 34.5 mil and 20% - 36 mil
That is what PSG were prepared to pay but I think that was their third offer wasn't it? You're right though it was a ludicrous price to pay for such a limited defender.
It's in regards to his worth of which it's Chelsea to do scouting not Everton. Everton will already know how good he is after working with him for two and a half years
We get a percentage of what Everton receive for Stones. Chelsea don't pay an additional amount to us, because we have a sell-on clause.
