Gotcha. I don't really follow social media so didn't know people were getting over excited about Quigg. Apologies for the crossed wires.

I like Crolla, a very capable fighter, a big heart and seems a genuinely nice bloke. Hope he does get another shot. Maybe his recent tribulations have increased his resolve?

Quite possibly mate. He was getting better ever fight recently and had really worked himself in to world title contention. I'm probably being unfair saying he fought above himself last night, I actually just meant that was a career best performance. When he rocked him in the 2nd Round I think he just needed another 60 seconds longer to get the knockdown. If he could bang a bit harder he'd be a world champion already.

Such a shame he didn't win. Domestic fights left, right and centre in that division at the moment and the belt could have stayed here for two years or more.

Not unfair, it probably was his best ever fight, it needed to be. He allowed Perez to grab him too quickly after that punch in the 2nd, if he could have landed just a couple more clean shots who knows?

British boxing in a good place atm.

I don't agree with that either.

I just think it's wrong that a referee can be from the same country as a fighter in a world title fight.

I understand you can't be shipping refs from around the world for 6 rounders or whatever due to the costs but for world title fights I've always felt they should be from a different country

I probably don't agree with it either, but I was just pointing out it isn't something you can highlight as irregular when it's common practice that happens all the time.

Although I will say it's very rarely I notice a referee being biased to the home fighter.

Any idea what they're suggesting by doing that?

It's a strange one. They're getting ten officials to score the fight again, five of them using the full point system and five of them using the half point system.

I'm not sure if this is linked to anything or just something that is happening regardless and is just circumstancial.

Eddie Hearn's requested it, it happens every now & then.

There'll be no suggestion of corruption but if they all / most score clearly in favour of Crolla they'll order a rematch

I don't think Eddie Hearn has had anything to do with it mate (unless you've read something I haven't). The Vice-President of the WBA has ordered it. This happens all the time apparantly whenever there's a hint of controversy, just to give them a balanced view of the scorecards. Just rarely gets announced or as much media coverage.
