Says LJ, maybe adds more truth to the Devante Cole rumours because he brings exactly that! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Although I agree that Cole has real pace, his control is shocking, he spends most of the time running after his first touch, his finishing was a bit off too. yes he scored a couple of great goals, but he missed a heck of a lot more !
You dont. But I dont see why you wouldnt want a player whos shown so much promise in his early career.
I dont think I said I didnt want him,I was pointing out his bad bits, He may have scored 10 goals, but he should have scored 20. He is raw and quick, but whether he ever will be a good player I dont know. He also was a bad timekeeper, argued with other staff as well.
Agree with this and whilst he may have electric pace he doesn't 'get in behind' much. If we take him back he will need further development. Wasn't there also rumours of him being late for training and stuff? Not saying I wouldn't take him back but he is still work-in-progress.
Hopefully he's improved on parts of his game, definitely a raw talent and brings something different, gamble on him or bring in someone proven? Down to LJ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I remember saying we needed pace last season, I even told our head coach we needed pace. Weird then (because he agreed) that we're three months further down the line and he's not signed any pace.
we need electric pace so we can lump it long and let speedyman run after it!! can't wait....sounds rivetting!
Pace is all good and well but guile and composure needs to be a part of their game as well. Granted players with both of these attributes cost fees we won't pay but I hope these potential signings are well thought out and not rushed into - maybe that's way they're the last bit of the 'jigsaw'.
Exactly mate! Don't get me wrong I think we are lacking in this department and with the addition of it I can see lots of our creative players benefiting from it. Its still early days and most clubs have yet to do their business.
Cole certainly has pace to burn. As others have rightly pointed out, there are parts of his game he needs to work on. However, he's only 20 and years away from being the finished article, so it'd be barmy to expect anything else. In all the years I've been a fan of our club, I've never seen a perfect player play for Barnsley even when they've been in their prime.
