There were new signs up (laminated A4 sheets of paper) and the prices appeared to be cheaper. They had run out of plain burgers before kick off though!
Nearly 10% increase. Where we going to spend that then? Another few members of staff at counters? Someone to clean pigeon shi t off the seats? Someone to remove the ancient "have you got blood in your stool" posters in the bogs? Or maybe a ****ing scoreboard that everyone seems to need. Mr Mansford needs to come down to our level and review the customer "experience" that we currently are providing. It's shi t.
CGC Events are taking over from Lindleys. My company services their catering equipment and we've just done Oakwell in the last couple of weeks. They've been in charge of the executive suite and team grub for years.
All drinks (bottles of pop or warm) were 2.20 last season you are saying we are now charging around 2.40 for a 500ml bottle of pop or a bit of warm water put in a powdered cup? If so bring back Lindleys and in the meantime people should boycott it and bring their own snap to games.
Ahhh so between 10 and 20 percent off that sounds better. All they need to do now is make it so you can pre ordered food and drink before the match starts. So in their downtime during an half they can get pre orders ready to pick up from say ten minutes before the end of the first half. Hand over your pre paid receipt from before the match and hand over the ordered that's already been sorted. Then people are only queuing for around 10 seconds. Better customer service
Yeah have heard CGC have taken over. Would expect an improvement on the concourses as a result. They certainly made a big improvement in terms of service and quality in the exec when they took over. Also heard (third hand) that prices will be lower on the whole but also that a deal has been done with Molson Coors so I don't think theres likely to be any Acorn for sale. (worthingtons maybe?) Might know a bit more when we meet with Ben to discuss Redfearns for next season in the next week or so
As I say, only heard it third hand. I guess the club have got to take the deal that earns them the most money and having the pouring rights with a brewery like Molson Coors is going to do that.
Hope they 1) keep crisps in a pie deal after admitting two years ago no one wants that and 2) the meal deal is still just price of drink and pie added together ........
Would have expected to see the club advertise that they were openly accepting tenders in order to get the best contract rather than just handing it over to their mates who do the exec boxes
Now now... Prices wont go down though on ale. Its ****ing ridiculous you can buy two pints in town for not much more than it costs for one in the ground.
Does seem strange to accept a deal without shopping around to see if they can get better elsewhere. 3.70 for a bottle of beer is very steep too. Pay that to drink it in a cold concourse or stay in town centre before a game, sit in a nice warm pub, watch the dinnertime premiership game in smart surroundings (anything is smarter than concrete slabs to look at) and buy a nice cold pint for much less. It's not exactly enticing people to the ground.
