Seeing that teamsheet tonight has made me panic

I know LJ and Hecky won't be playing for us this year, and I hope that this is a front for some trialists or something, but I've been hit with a wave of panic.

There's been some strange going's on at the well recently.

We released a lot of players - fine. Trim the deadwood and a couple of big earners. Aside from Oates I wasn't bothered about any of them leaving.

Then Jennings leaves - again, I get that. He was fat anyway. But Luke Berry? He was a promising young player and we're short on numbers.

Lalkovic and Bailey exiled despite our low numbers - still think Lalkovic should have got another chance, but fine as long as some replacements are lined up.

Turnbull moves to Leeds, leaving us with just 1 keeper who has only played half a season, and looked very shaky a year ago. Big wages though so I guess that makes sense.

David Ball comes on trial, scores a great goal and is seemingly rejected - eh? We don't even have a full team for a friendly tonight, so why has he not been given another game?

Three loan players in - waste of money and game time.

Basically the concern is that we don't have any replacement players in yet. I understand that we're going for a talented core of a squad but we just need players now. Why is nobody being brought in!?

 

And with Winnall carrying a knock and Hourihane out, I think we will be starting this season behind where we started last. Shame, but that won't make us a serious challenger. Dramatic transfer activity will be needed over two weeks and some good formation and fitness activity to get us ready.

 

maybe we are waiting for john stones deal if it happens which if it does is at the end of the transfer window and then mason holgate will be going but we cant buy enough players with 1 million i think its going to be loan players again

 

If we are keeping our powder dry while we wait on transfer activity then we may end up playing catch up.

 

And don't forget that Davies came on leaps and bounds under the coaching of mark crossley. He's now left and there is no telling how Davies will adapt to his new coach

 

Got to admit, I've never panicked over a game of football in my life. Nervous, yeah. Really wanted to win too. But panic. Chill art.

 

i thought Ben said that we not going to be in the same position as last season, i.e. waiting for something (chris o grady) to happen before we can bring our targets in?????

Also didn't LJ say that he wanted most of his recruitment done before the pre season matches??
