Scored 15 goals for LJ last season at this level. Experienced, knows the division, quick, scores goals. I'd be happy with that. Just a bit of a sicknote.
Jonathon Forte would be a very good signing and just what we need. Quick, strong, scores goals, can play up top or out wide and is left footed, something we missed badly from our wingers most of last season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
he is one of the 5 we were in for with Oldham connections, along with Wilkinson . Just the keeper , Kelly and the fullback that was there
Averages a goal every 5 and a bit games ! One season in double figures ! mmmm not convinced he is a great signing, but as long as we get Winnall fit , no problem.
Forte. One good season otherwise resolutely average and a bit of the arcitypal journeyman. Ho hum for me.
He's never scored many goals though, apart from last season. Having said that, him having his best season (in goal scoring terms) last year under LJ is a good sign - might be able to squeeze the best out of him
Goals aren't everything, if he provides assists and links other players into the attack and we get a goal from it then thats alright.
Cone on you know it's perfectly acceptable to state "never rated him" or "no thanks" with an air of Jose mouriniho. That's the BBS font of all knowledge standard response!
Well, I was impressed with him at Oakwell last season and thought he was a handful. He's scored 36 in his last 103 games, which isn't bad, considering he moved 6 times in that period and it isn't clear how many of those appearances are from the bench. He's also available on a free, so a one year contract with us having the option of a second year wouldn't be bad business.
His parents live near Spart Towers. Know his dad well enough to say, ey up, not seen him for a while mind but this should qualify me for a Whitey stylee friend in know status...
No idea if he's any good, but three folk in this thread have listed one of his attributes as scoring goals. For me, 'scoring goals' means getting on towards 20 goals a season, hopefully more, but I'd take anything in double figures. Forte's record 2003/04 - 8 Appearances - 0 goals 2004/05 - 27 Apps - 1 goal 2005/06 - 30 Apps - 8 goals 2006/07 - 51 Apps - 9 goals 2007/08 - 40 Apps - 4 goals 2008/09 - 24 Apps - 8 goals 2009/10 - 34 Apps - 3 goals 2010/11 - 38 Apps - 6 goals 2011/12 - 20 Apps - 7 goals 2012/13 - 28 Apps - 4 goals 2013/14 - 0 App - 0 goals 2014/15 - 37 Apps - 15 goals I'd prefer us to sign a forward with a good scoring record, but I realise there's more to football than that. I have no idea about the rest of lad's play, he could be brilliant for all I know, but he's clearly not a prolific goal scorer. He's had one good goal scoring season. Actually he's had one good three month run. He bagged 11 in the first 13 games last season, then reverted to type and scored 4 in the final 6 months of the season. Not saying he'd be a bad signing, it's just that he definitely isn't what I would describe as a goal scorer. His record is at best average in that regard, although that's being generous, and he had a 12 week purple patch last season, the only one of his career.
