Championship here we come. Returning from the armpit of Scotland with all 3 points. When's the draw for the next round?
Everything about that report gives me a warm feeling. So....is it all lies, or should people stop complaining and let LJ just get on with his job? I wish they would!
Looks like Johnson was thinking about doing someone else's job, unless it was a joke putting him and Heckingbottom down as subs on the report? Good to see Phenix started. It would be like a new signing if he is fit and ready to go at the start of the season. Edit: hadn't noticed the other threads about this!
The lads played very well. Killie had lots of experience in their team tonight. But Barnsley looked comfortable. In truth we could and perhaps should have won by a much clearer margin. Smith had a good game. Great bit of skill from Scowen to release Smith for the cross for the goal. Watkins seemed to get better as the game wore on. He should have scored 2 in the second half but it was encouraging to see him get into some fantastic positions. Roberts looked really solid and Mawson looks a class act. Pearson was his usual busy self constantly wanting the ball. Wilkinson looks the part but he appears to be holding something back. He has the build to be a real nuisance for defenders but he needs to go up a gear or two to realise his potential. Nyatanga also looked comfortable. Phoenix has got pace and looked a threat in the first half - we were surprised and disappointed to see him subbed early in the second half.
Thanks for the report. A win there is a pretty impressive result. Imagine if CH and SSW were playing as well!
Good goal from Wilkinson but I thought he looked quite isolated at times. Left to do too much on his own when he got the ball. Midfield seemed a wee bit slow to give him options. I'm sure thing will be tougher when he is up against better defenders in the league. 1st half neither keeper had much to do. Things got better in the 2nd with both teams taking the game to each other. The guy Bree looked tidy at times and Scowen looks to be a find. Tricky player. BTW nice meeting T-dog and Redinburgh. Hope you both had a safe journey home.
Cheers Ian. Good to meet you and T-dog too. Unusual for me to be back home just over an hour after watching the reds.
I was back in some time after half 1, made getting up this morning very difficult. Good to meet up with fellow Tartan Tykes!
