More money down the drain on contracts http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/article/james-bailey-departs-oakwell.-2567284.aspx
i can't imagine it's full contract. otherwise why release him? mutual consent suggests a deal has been struck..
He's entitled to his full contract being paid up if he doesn't ask for a transfer. That would suggest he's been paid a pretty decent pay off and has a new club lined up to allow a settlement to be reached and to allow the acquiring club the means to take him on. Signings must surely be close to being completed with 16 days left to the seasons kick off?
A cracking signing for a club at this level willing to play him alongside a holding player, rather than having him as the holding player. I wish him all the best. Another victim of our rapid turnaround of managers.
It's far too early for me to move on - the wound is too fresh! Sam doesn't do anything for me, Hourihane might be the one but he's a bit of a pretty boy. They're all so young now - Bailey was only a year younger than me, I can cope with that!
It's great news that he's gone but I hope we havent done another Donovan scenario where we are paying the contract up in full
I think you could maybe say that about Lalkovic and Berry. But I don't think Wilson fancied Bailey either. Dropped him for a very long period. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
To be fair, I suppose he did end up shelved for Pearson, aye. I think I prefer Pearson as it goes, but he's not our player so it dunt sit well with me. On Berry, he scored a superb free kick against Ipswich on Tuesday night, said to the media afterwards that it felt good to be back playing central midfield, making things happen after an ineffective time at Barnsley on the wing...
