well done to jase, pat and co for going to these lengths. however the reason people don't renew is quite simple.....we have been shlte for years and have got worse not better. People get fed up of watch the drivel produced so don't renew. That simple, it really is. The prices of tickets, food, ale etc. don't help but things like that and the scoreboard don't really matter. If we're doing well, people would come to watch. thereev has just saved the chairman / board a load of time and effort in doing these sessions....I am all heart me!! I am available on a consultancy basis if you are reading Jase.
Glad you have renewed, we all have to do our bit and hope things improve! What was said about Stones?? Any mention of the scoreboard, I guess it's never going to happen? Anything else worth going into a bit more detail about?
Patrick essentially repeated what he'd said in the No.7 but interestingly said that he'd enquired to see if Man Utd were interested in Stones. They turned him down, saying he wasn't worth that money, so it seems Barnsley weren't the only ones to fail to spot his true ability. Everton were the only club interested, once Wigan had quickly dropped out, and weren't prepared to pay any more, although Patrick did negotiate the sell on clause. He gave no specifics on that though. The scoreboard wasn't discussed, but Linton said there would be an announcement with regards to catering - possibly today I think - to make Oakwell a more attractive venue for pre-match food and drink, rather than the town centre.

Lets hope in a years time that they aren`t set wi a new manager and a new plan or else the attendance at this may be far bigger. Its good to see em engaging though with a lot more fans and long may it continue.
Think I've got to go with thereev and Dr.Zazlos on this one, much as it grieves me. There seems to be quite a disconnect between all the positive talk by Lee/Ben etc. and then the product you see on the pitch on a Saturday afternoon ; especially the way last season petered out,1 win in 9 was it. Still,it's a new season and all that, and if we can't be positive now (ie.10 days before new season starts) then when can we... You Optimistic Reds!!
Very impressive from those involved at Oakwell. Glad that is being acknowledged by most. I have to say the reev is right. The bottom line is, if we're playing well and/or winning (primarily winning) people will come and watch. If we aren't then attendances will slide along with season ticket sales. But how many other clubs would have had that sort of input and engagement from the hierarchy? I can't think of any.
I did make the point to Patrick that he did really need to give Lee time to achieve his ambitions. Patrick is clearly very keen on Lee, saying he was like a son to him...
This forum probably accounts for maybe 3-5% of the regular fans at iskwell and there's probably 15-20 on here the constantly moan......I'll not shame them but you know who you are! Without PC you wouldn't have a club to follow so wind your necks in and chill the **** out or go and watch that **** at S6......
I'm not surprised the attendance was low for such an event - although I think the club are great for doing it, and shame on those who said they were going to attend and then didn't! The reason I'm not surprised is that most of those who have fallen out of love with the club are probably not arsed anymore about going and chatting, as they have simply lost interest. Then they will have been those whose only reason will have been the money and that would be embarrasing and not very worthwhile to turn up and just say 'I'm skint mate, soz'. I've very glad they went ahead with just the 4 of you and thanks for letting us know how it went Woodbine.
A kind of see you point but there's constructive critiscm and then there's general moaning for nothing!! You know full well who the main culprits are on here.....I'm sure if they actually knew the workings of how to run a club then they'd be less critical......saying that though with the way certain posters carry on there most likely moaning ****ers full stop!!
As regards the product on the pitch it's been dire for too long hence why people quite right moan. I've got my tickets for the Chesterfield game and will see how it goes from there. Im willing to pay the going rate to go to Oakwell on a match by match basis but am reluctant to purchase a season ticket until the product shows signs of a clear improvement. The main subject of what was stated at last night's meeting certainly is pleasing to hear and deserves praise but for many people it's all about seeing an improvement on the pitch to where we are heading. Play the game attractively in a positive manner and people will start trickeling back thru the turnstiles.
Thas described me to a tee. Sumtimes the drip drip drip effect works, well it does wi me eventually, cos al gerrof mi arse and do summat just to shut ar gurt up from constantly nagging on abart summat. Am sure even those that you see as the worst culprits want the best for the club or they would keep schtum.
