So Man U pipped Liverpool to him!...... http://metro.co.uk/2015/07/29/manch...l-digby-is-at-club-ahead-of-transfer-5317250/
means absolutely nothing that article he is a triallist ... he has to impress. I wish him well as it cash for us innit, but maybe spy's from Liverpool are there too. Agents will always be greedy and go the most cash, which can only be in our interests.
Let's not forget the papers reported that Holgate was on the verge of signing for Villa. Then Swansea. Then Newcastle. Then he went on trial at Man Utd. Now he's back here, apparently. I won't believe anything until I hear it confirmed from the club or a very good club source.
If he signs for United I'm making myself a promise not to take any notice of certain people on here...
he'll never get close to Man Uniteds first team... i fail to see what people see in his brief appearances
I don't know how you can say that given his injury problems. Even if he proves he's good enough it's hard to believe his body will deal with the demands
His main injury problem was all to do with his physical growth at the age of 17/18. The trouble with a lot of fans is that judge young players on the basis of a small number of appearances - they're either utterly crap or the best thing thing since sliced bread. Players develop and mature at different rates, especially when managers and coaches change every 12/18 months. I just do not see how you can dismiss a young player who has played a few games in the awful teams we have had a Oakwell during the time he has been a young professional, especially when both the England set up and Man Utd have clearly seen something special in him. That said I respect the right of everyone to have their own opinions and to express them. My opinion is that Digby will have a great football career.
If it doesn't work out at ManU, lets hope he comes back with renewed confidence and proves the doubters wrong. They might be taking a punt, but I'm sure he must have been watched and they've seen something worth looking at.
