It read that the idea of bikes and retro uniforms was to instill an aura of authority and also to patrol the community.

Re: Connected to this...The fast track migrant policy has been declared illegal .....

This was my understanding. Unless something has changed somewhere.

So in reality, anyone seeking asylum should be dealt with by the time they arrive here (unless they arrive by plane or boat etc)

However, as we have the "Freedom of movement" within the EU this is where is gets a little muddy. So everyone will be playing that card probably once they have done the initial asylum.

I don't know. We can all guess at why they want to come here, but the matter is, 2000 trying to get over in one go in one night through the same way. That isn't right no matter which way a politically correct stance is put on it

If they should claim asylum in the first safe country that clearly means the southern European countries have to take the brunt of it, would that be fair on them?

The muddy bit is when those countries then give them a citizenship of sorts, they can then freely move around Europe.

There are definitely no criminals who are "IN". Those criminals born and bred here, English to the core etc, Nope don;t worry about those just use the Army et al to keep foreign ones "OUT". Nice policy Enoch.

He becomes a criminal when he doesn't have an entry visa.

Please feel free to find me where in international law it states that....it doesn't.

Been through this before, there is nothing that states that they should claim asylum in the first country, because if that were the case the problem you then get is the bordering countries get swamped.

There was a refugee from one of the French camps on BBC world news saying "I want a house, i don't want to live like this, who is going to help me".
That's why they're despearate to get in.
My sons want a house, however, they're working and saving so they can buy one, not trying to illegally enter a country to be given one. I know who'll get one first though.

3,000 there today, imagine 10,000 trying to storm the tunnel, fences will be no deterrent if the numbers keep increasing.

Have a read of this, there are some good points and it also refers to international law, where asylum should be sought in the first safe country you enter. http://www.express.co.uk/comment/ex...rants-no-right-seek-asylum-Britain-Ross-Clark

Re: Connected to this...The fast track migrant policy has been declared illegal .....

I've read the page on the link and searched around other pages from that and i don't see where it says that the claim is processed in the first country reached, I've found it saying that the country where the application is lodged is responsible for the asylum seeker.

I'm not trying to make any point other than, people state that the first country is where they should make the claim, and despite searching for this ruling and requesting it, no official page I've found has ever stated that.
I'm prepared to accept it if I see it but it's just not mentioned (excluding reporters in newspapers just saying it).

I did see reference that the Dublin Agreement came into force in 2014, so it may well be in there as I think the last time I was searching all this out was a couple of years ago.

I found this, so what it seems to state is that the country that lodges the application takes responsibility - however the country where the application is being made can request that another country lodges it.
    http://www.echr.coe.int/Documents/FS_Dublin_ENG.pdf

It still doesn't seem to go as far as, by law the applicant MUST apply in the first country they come to.

I suspect you are 100 percent correct. It could be argued that there is a moral obligation but there is no legal one. I don't think Dublin established a legal requirement.

Just tell them if they want to come to the UK they're more than welcome but they'll be required to attend Oakwell 23 times a season. Watch the f*ckers run back to France.
