I get my broadband phone and tv from Virgin but am considering moving to BT. They are offering free football and offer ends Aug 5th. Anyone else get their broadband from BT? Just wondering what the service is like. Is their broadband ok as regards speed.I don't watch or download films or have music channels so only have a basic package with Virgin so free football and a £20 per month saving on what I pay atm would be a bonus. Thanks for any help here.
Im pretty sure if you call virgin tell them you are thinking of leaving because you can get xyz deal for x pounds they will match it If they dont then leave.
TBH Dave I phoned up today to make sure I could leave without penalty. I can and the guy I spoke to was keen to help me leave. Of course they would not be losing much as I am on their minimum package. I was just wondering how reliable BT broadband was before I made the move.
I reluctantly switched to BT from Virgin about two years ago. I work from home so the broadband has to be fast and reliable and at this point I really can't complain about BT. It has never let me down so I can't comment on the customer service which I suppose is another tick in the box.
I had to wait some time for Superfast to be enabled but, once it was, the increase in speed was noticeable. No complaints about BT at all. Pay about £42 per month for phone line, broadband and BT TV. Had sport for free all along but I think that is changing soon. I might opt out of it as I am not interested in Chumps League.
You need to befriend somebody at Virgin. One of my mates used to work in their call centre near Bellshill. Things like SKY Sports used to accidentally appear on my package for free all the time
There must be a United fan working for them, you just need to get lucky lol. The amount of free stuff I used to get off o2 due to being a Barnsley fan was immense.
I've got Virgin phone, top speed broadband and XL package with bt sports included for £53 per month. Not too bad.
