That crossed my mind as well, but insertion of a sell-on clause doesn't automatically mean that the fee should be well below market value.
And it comes to a point where they are ineffective - i.e. so high that the selling club loses any incentive to sell. We're in the driving seat. I don't understand why £1m is being bandied about - must have come from his agent as surely it can't have come from the club.
