And have done so again this season? I know many of you now have those Android boxes, but that isn't the debate here. I'm just interested to know how many people have continued to subscribe, despite them losing content AND then putting prices up.

TalkTalk customers have grabbed a real coup tho with a £99 season ticket for a 9 month subscription - I got one with Virgin last year for £150. I'm loathe though to pay full whack this year at £29.25 per month, especially as I say they have lost content.

At £29.25 (for me on Virgin, other companies vary) that works out around £2.25 per game. Bear in mind I might miss a few of these games, but to counter, I might watch some things that aren't Premier League matches, so I will still base it on that figure. If I decided not to subscribe, and go to the pub to watch half the games instead, I'd pay much more than that in drink alone. False economy. Alternatively, I could subscribe for the first month to get the initial new season excitement out of the way, then again over the Christmas period, and again for the end of the season, and simply not bother inbetween. I have a good fix of footy anyway with BT Sports - especially having European football now.

Simply interested to hear fellow BBSers opinions on the matter.

Packed Sky Sports in last year. Not really missed it much. If there is something on I really want to watch I go to local pub and watch it there.

I did same as you re Virgin and cancelled at the end of the season ticket. If they do it again at £150, I may partake. If not I can watch Sky at West Green WMC when I wish and see BT matches at home when I wish.

I think Sky Sports is pretty OK price wise. Not particularly bothered about European football so that being lost is OK. Still got lots of World Wrestling Entertainment, Professional Darts Corporation, ATP Tennis, Cricket both domestic/international, Premiership football and Football League to watch. La Liga is staying with them too despite rumours of it going to BT Sport.

For all you get for the price of around 1 ninety minute football game live at the ground is a bargain.

    Got sky again this year

£60 a month including sports family and movies

Includes Internet and phone line , multi room

I can watch any sport other than cricket so I find it a decent price . Especially through the week when nothing on TV

Sunday's usually 3 matches on so day sorted

I have it, but I've become very good at haggling with them. I actually went to cancel it a few weeks ago, until they pointed out to me that when I threatened to leave in February they gave me such a good deal that it's basically costing me around a fiver per month for Sky Sports. I only keep it for the boxing anyway.

Bt Sport must be doing a deal to get some sky customers surely. i had BT broadband then moved back to sky a year or so ago. Really fancy getting BT again now what with them having Champions League also but just can't justify the 15 quid on top of what i pay sky...... Hopefully an offer will appear soon!!!

I stopped with Sky Last year after 20+ years subscriptions, so far I've been offered a new flatscreen tv & now they offered me 6 months free with no obligations. What will their next offer be, It's like playing deal or no deal :nails:

60% off sky tv + £50 credit, sky go extra £2.50 as both lads watch it on ps4/360 and just ordered bt broadband which includes the bt prem chan in hd for £8.50 p/m inc line rental.

£30 p/m, can't grumble at that, well the missus can!

These threads get me frustrated as I'm very good at getting a bargain but Sky continually refuse to top me up with sports for any less than the £25 price. Seriously how do folks do it. Family discount not revealing or what?

Wasn't interested in Sky's offers to stay with them which oddly started coming my way when I told them I was cancelling (hmmm why not before???). Had BT Sport through Sky but now gone for their BT TV package. Champions League was a plus for me alongside MotoGP coverage.

Not paid for Sky for about 10 years now. Can get all I want from the free streaming sites. Can't see why anyone would pay £30 a month or over for Sky.

you've got to be prepared to call their bluff, i accepted less than a week before my months notice was due to expire

Just need to lay on the ******** strongly. Tell them you can no longer afford to pay, say you've a kid you need to fork out a grand for to go on a school trip, mrs has recently lost her job and the one she's lined up isn't ready to start for another month. Whatever you say doesn't have to be true and i'm sure they will do what it takes to keep you as the person taking the call will be on commission to get you signed up for another 12-18 months.

I don't give me my money to Murdoch and those that ruined football if you want to watch games it's easy enough to stream.

I just get my fix via Time4tv or Oleole on the interweb.
Totally free, connection may be a bit dodgy at times but FREEEEEEE !
Have been watching the Ashes on Time4tv, really good picture indirectly from Sky sports 2.
Chromecast it to our tv and bobs yer uncle. BUT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ADBLOCKPLUS DOWNLOADED AND INSTALLED.

Not everyone has strong enough internet speed to be able to watch it good without it freezing. Our government aren't that quick at getting the whole country superfast broadband instead of concentrating on just the cities and town centres. Politicans in Huddersfield are trying for this area. A few months back the Huddersfield Examiner had alot of letters about it. Someone in Cumberworth getting 0.5 MBs and someone in Farnley Tyas getting around 0.7 mb. Once the whole country including rural areas can get the speeds the likes central London can get then i'm sure more people will get shut and watch on streaming sites.
