A lot of people are claiming in other threads that the Holgate deal ranks up there. Don't think we've done too badly myself, but I think we can only truly say in 3-4 years time.

For me, the clear winner is getting a reported £750,000 for Scott Flinders. I must say I liked Scott a lot, both as a 'keeper and the fact that he came across as a lovely bloke. But £750,000?!

Some bloke has just posted in Twitter screen shots of a post made by Patrick cryne.

That seems to suggest we have pulled down Evertons pants.

The runoured £1m bids were never real. We would only sell to Bournemouth for a significan fee. Eventually they made an offer we couldn't refuse.

When we had accepted their offer Everton suddenly came in with a bid. And we said we would only accept a bid if it was significantly more than the bournmouth bid. After 3 bids they made one that Ben accepted.

Sounds bloody good news to me. Even if we never find out the number. I suspect we can now buy a few off Lees list of players he wants.

    Great business.

Some lad called OMGitsNath. Although it seems he's now deleted the pictures. Seems like PC had asked for his followers not to share it?! Imagine half the Barnsley fans on Twitter have just seen it though.

Don't think PC is daft. He knows the best way to get a message to fans is to post it on his facebook page, where he is friends with complete strangers, and then "request" it's not shared. This is a bloke who made millions in business. Think he knows what he's doing!

Someone gave us some of our money back for Stuart Rimmer which I was always impressed by. Good player though he was I think £1.4 million for Carl Tiler as a pretty sweet deal. But John played the Scott Flinders top trump straight away. Though a mate of mine on us getting rid of Rammell was impressed that we got 50 grand and a player for Andy Rammell. Shane that player was Dave Regis.

Tiler was one of those which could have gone either way. Great player for us and tipped by some to be knocking on the door of the England squad - but never quite became the player we thought he would, and turned out to be quite injury prone, so £1.4 definitely looks like a great deal in retrospect. As to be honest does £700k for David Currie, and £400k for Andy Payton. Disappointed with both deals at the time, the money was reinvested wisely and very good sides were built.

I am seriouslybeginning to think that he doesn't have a list he just looks at YouTube clips of players and decides off there. Then pretends to make a bid to keep the fans happy but doesn't sign anyone unless it's a loan ...

    £4,300,000 for Ashley Ward.

Now I get that he was brilliant for us, but before and after us he really wasn't much cop.

As we can for reinvesting half of it in Mike Sheron, once wages are taken into account.

I was just going to put the same... My mates who support Bradford hated him and couldn't believe how much I rated him... They also didn't think much of redfearn!!!

It was only the other day I was musing on how weird it is that our transfer records, both paid and received, are both over 15 years old unbroken. And I reckon it will be another good few years yet before we pay more than £1.5m for a player again.

    Three things regarding Mason Holgate.

    1. He's not worth the money Everton have paid for him.

    2. He's not a Premier League or Championship player at the moment and also not an outstanding players at League 1 level.

    3. He will never be a successful Premier League player.

We've got very good money for him in my opinion as players who normally leave at our level for decent money are strikers, goal scoring wingers and young playmakers.

He actually said that we wanted more than £1 million. Either way, its great business. Just hope LJ gets to spend it.
