We've just won, and the majority of threads/posts are damning in their content/opinion. Where someone attempts to praise a player, someone has to point out a particular moment in a 90 minute match where said player wasn't perfect. Only seen one thread that gives any praise to the opposition, a side fresh from a title winning campaign, unbeaten since February, who'd won their first two games, one of them away at Bolton. The lad who scored the winner is being pilloried still, by the majority, seemingly this time for one poor header and there's a thread suggesting he was gesturing negatively at supporters. It's bizarre. In my opinion.

I have been following this club since 1988 and so if we say that on average there's been 50 games per season, that would be around 1,300 games. I can guarantee we've lost a lot more of those games than we've won. And I've moaned about loads of em no doubt. So I'm ****** if I'm going to moan about a 1-0 win against a decent side whilst not playing at our best, just a week into the season with a new group of players etc.

We've signed a full back by the looks of things, he's got good reviews from Oldham and Donny fans in terms of his attacking qualities. We're supposedly set to bring JOS back, but this time permanently (there's no such thing, but you get my point). I'd also assume a forward might be arriving before the window shuts. The side's taking shape, we've got three points on the board and a mouthwatering cup tie around the corner. I'm feeling positive about things, looking forward to being back at Oakwell next week and get the keys to our new house next week n all.

    Happy days.

FTR, I have no problem with alternative opinions/thinking. But I reserve the right to share my own, which I just have done. :) Cheers.

A valid view Mr Whitey but every now and then we all expect to be entertained, after all that's the whole point of attending isn't it?

Cannot comment on today as a non attender but judging by the reaction on here it was another poor lacklustre effort, granted we got the 3 points.

The whole mindset of the club has to change to attract the fans back thru the turnstiles on a regular basis otherwise 8500 will soon end up at 6000 if their not careful.

Good post ive seen us play alot worse then that we knockt it about well at times today the squad is taking shape lj knows we need to improve he said in his post match interview. But were only 3 games into this season and I dont think lj knows his best starting 11 or formation yet im confident we will have a good season though. I thought scowern, roberts and pearson all had good games today too.

Hope you are not suggesting that I am "moaning" about anything, seeing as it was me that raised the point about CH's gesture at the crowd. Maybe someone has an even closer view of it but from where I was sitting he made the gesture. I am NOT, I repeat NOT having a go at CH for this. I love him to bits as a footballer - how can anyone argue about his contribution last season?

All I am saying is what I saw and am aiming my criticism at the person/people in the crowd who made him react that way. That's all - no moaning, no negativity.

By the way, I took two young people with me - teenage boy and girl - who were seeing their first English football match. They loved it. So did I, to a point. Loved getting the three points from a strong Burton side best of all :D

It's quite unbelievable really isn't it.

"Never felt so deflated after an opening day win". "That was absolutely dire".

Who the **** cares? We've just picked up 3 points against a side riding on the crest of a wave who hadn't lost since February. If we're playing negative, defensive football and losing games then fine, complain and whinge away. Yes it wasn't a great performance but who wouldn't have taken 3 points any way possible today? I'm going all the way down to Millwall on Tuesday and if we play ***** and win I'll be absolutely delighted. 3 points are more important than playing fantastic football with a young side at the moment.

I agree with what Whitey says too. In addition, it appears for all his trying, Ben can do nothing right.

It appears to me that any criticism of CH is not allowed under a Whitey government. Not commenting on CH one way or another. But I have been to the game and I can assure anyone prepared to listen that it was utter boredom.

Even Leejay admitted as much so I don't see how anyone who hasn't been can comment on it.

I'm not knocking anybody mate, as I say, other opinions are available. Was just pointing out that from where I'm looking, you logon here and you'd assume we'd lost and all our players are ****. It's like folk see this place as a moan bank. Like a bottle bank for moaners. Or sperm bank. Should have used sperm bank. I actually should have, years ago, but that's another story. I'm rambling. :D Enjoy your evening.

Enjoyed great chunks of what I saw today. Some of the passing was sublime and the movement of young Crowley when he came on was a joy to watch.

I know we could have conceded four or five but I don't care about that. We didn't and some good defending was the reason for some of that - bad shooting responsible for the rest.

I like the way this squad is taking shape even though we are a bit top heavy on midfielders. Something has to give somewhere and we might end up with a few disgruntled players. The likes of Abbot and Digby might never even see the bench but, then again, if the manager rotates them correctly all will be chunky monkey.

I've never been a doom mongerer, if there is such a word. Maybe there is. I expect us to win the league EVERY season. Oddly enough I am often disappointed :)

To be honest, Whitey, you're coming across all aggressive like...

You only know that I haven't been because I make a point of it.

You miss lots of games yet chunter on regardless.

FWIW, nowhere in my opening post do I give the impression I was at the game, nor do I pass comment on the game, quality of it, or how folk should react to it. The first half of my post was a summary of the BBS since full time, as I read it. And then my expression of positivity regards BFC.

Had I been a moaning, chelping, snide basterd, I doubt you'd have replied as such.

    Hth. :)

I wasn't being negative. I'm still positive, but my opinion was that 3-5-2 didn't suit us.

Originally i wasn't going to attend today, but this morning realising i had nothing better to do than sit and watch soccer Saturday i decided to attend. Despite us winning, i was wishing i hadn't bothered because it was all just too flat. When Hourihane scored i found it hard to jump up and down like a mad man because i was mind numbingly bored, so i just let out a little "yes, get in" and had a little clap. The place was like a morgue, and the teams performance was as flat as a pancake. Had i been a Burton fan i would have been entertained because they looked most like scoring.
