It's the main topic of conversation on Talksport.

Think his price is jumping by the minute.

They'll be desperate for him after that.

Surely they must hold their nerve until they offer £40m minimum. They'll get it.

According to Sunday People sources the Holgate deal is 2.3m with add ons and the Stones sell on clause is 15%.

    Mourinho needs reinforcements

Chelsea look a long way short of the side that controlled the Premier League title race from start to finish last season - and Mourinho surely needs to get busy in the transfer market between now and deadline day.
Sergio Aguero pass distribution against Chelsea
Sergio Aguero had a passing accuracy of 94.7% with just one unsuccessful pass before he was replaced by Wilfried Bony
Everton's John Stones has been the subject of two failed bids of £20m and £26m - and there was enough vulnerability on show here to suggest Mourinho may try to go back to the negotiating table. The problem he has is Everton have no intention of selling their elegant young England defender.

Radio Sheffield yesterday said it was over a million and could rise to 2 million with the add ons.

Everton in the driving seat here for several reasons-

1 - Chelsea look **** at the back

2 - Everton already lost 2 centre backs this summer. For any further upheaval they'll want compensating

3 - Stones likely to be first choice at the Euro's next summer where his value will increase even more so the offers got to be huge

If he goes to Chelsea do you think Terry will bray him up?

No but if Stonesy has a girlfriend I'd leave her in Liverpool until Terry retires.

Not having seen the match if Chelsea are as bad ad people are saying, maybe just maybe they could be looking for more a more experienced player cos lets be honest Stones is still in the potentially great category in my opinion.

Everton still haven't replaced the two defenders they let go in the summer. Since then Baines has got injured and is out for three months. Yesterday they had to play their only three experienced defenders. So they have needed two defenders all summer and if they let Stones go they will need three in a matter of weeks. Things are that desperate for them defensively that Holgate might get a start sooner than we think. I reckon Stones won't go until at least January.
