Even if it's Against Leeds Really want then to come back down with a bump Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Only problem if that wish comes true and Bristol do come back down, is that it will kinda highlight just how big the divide is getting between championship and L1 - like the gap between PL and championship but 10 years further down the track. The difference in money, even between these 2 leagues is becoming a real problem and is going to have the effect of closing the shop on the championship in a few short years. The PL for me is already closed and bolted to all bar the most rare exceptions.
To be fair last season Brentford got to the playoffs straight after going up, Bournemouth went up 2 seasons after league 1. It's all about using money wisely, a difficult task
When we went up with Bolton and Palace all 3 of us came straight back down. Bigger clubs - Southampton, Newcastle, West Ham - find it easier but at the moment Stoke, Palace and Swansea are doing ok despite having little long-term Premiership pedigree.
The Championship is becoming PL2 and it's all down to money - Sky and rich men. I heard on the radio that something like 14 clubs have parachute payments and another 4 have mega rich owners. So that doesn't give much hope to the smaller clubs like us if we were to get back. Having said that it would be a challenge I'd like to take up.
You start to realise how much we are up against it financially when clubs like Bristol are offering 7 million to another Championship club for a striker who's only had one season in the 2nd tier
