I wonder how much we are contributing towards their wages?

    I'm thinking £0.

I don't think you'll be too wide of the mark there CT.

So considering we have brought a player in from Scotland, a lad from the Conference, and a Brentford reserve, who can't be on fortunes, the bulk of our first eleven can't be costing us much.

Surely we must have some room for manoeuvre in the next eleven days.

Think you're definitely right on Rothwell, Pearson and Crowley. Can't help but think we got the Man Utd duo as bait to let Holgate and Digby train with them for two weeks.

We had to trim something like 15% off the wage bill anyway, but Crainie, Jennings, Treacy, Turnbull and Lita should have helped with that before you even start with the other departures.

Expect a late flurry of activity me thinks

If the point of that post is to suggest that we have funds, then remember Rome wasn't built in a day.

And thus not without proper foundations.

I think if the right players were willing to sign we'd be happy to pay them a decent wage.

Not sure if that phrase applies in this situation?

I haven't a clue if they're costing us money. Also, isn't it right that lots of our players' wages don't count towards SCMP? We'll have done remarkably well if we get promoted this season with a squad so young, and without spending much after trimming the high earners. With the Stones money to roll in during the next 12 months I would imagine, we'd be pretty well set financially to really attack the second tier, as we once used to do.

Lots of stuff has to go spectacularly well between now and May for this to happen, but I'd sooner look upon it with that frame of mind than think of it negatively, because that negative stuff just hurts my brain and it's only small.

    Nor me.

I meant to try and say that we have spent alot of money over the years, and no more than recently, on substandard players.

After 2 or 3 games yer just know that buying them was not right.

Just because we haven't bought a cavalry now doesn't mean we might not eventually win the war.

If the right players aren't available, keep the powder dry till they are. Don't go buying in hope.

If loanees better fit the bill for now, use em.

    Who's thinking negatively?

Dunno mate, not my concern. I'm referring to mi sen. In my life, I think I'm a fairly upbeat and positive bloke, and I'm a great believer in positive thinking helping you to achieve positive things. Unfortunately, I've afforded negativity far too much thought when it comes to BFC, especially in recent years whether that's based on factual impact or just that nagging feeling int back of my mind.

I agree with that. That said, if we don't sign a target man & another full back we may as well write the season off as a nice mid table skirmish, as we are not equipped.

I've absolutely no idea. Could be nowt, although I doubt it, could be a considerable amount, or somewhere in between. Haven't a clue.
