    As a replacement for Butterfield.

I think it started in an article in the Daily Mail but is now rife on social media.

I hope if true we knock them back, but obviously everyone has their price. Wonder what he's worth in the current overinflated ridiculous transfer market where you have Andre Gray at £9m?

Anything less than £2m I think I'd tell them or anyone else for that matter to do one.

Just seen the article on the mail your on about. hope he dosnt go but like you say everyone has a price, we dont need to sell and he still has 2 years left on his contract so cant see us letting him go for cheap. 2million plus a sell on clause would be fair i think. Really hope he dosnt go though espesially late on in the transfer window would be hard to replace.

Would leave us really short of midfielders!

In the current climate I think £2m is on the cheap side. He's under contract, hasn't requested a transfer, and is still some way off his prime.

To get a replacement or replacements that could contribute the amount of goals/assists he does would be pretty expensive so I guess you're right.

Am I the only one thinking that he's not good enough for Championship football yet? You can't just get away with being good at set pieces at that level.

Agree. I love Conor but with the flaws in his game he's no where near Championship level yet. Especially not at a struggling side.

I think it would be a poor move for him at this stage.

Had a look at the Daily Mail article. It actually sounds credible although it could be ballacks, but the biggest eye opener for me was how Butterfield looks now. I wouldn't have recognised him. Good to see him looking so athletic. My favourite ever player to come through our youth system. I thought he was fantastic, but believed his opportunities would be restricted in the Premier League as he didn't have the natural fitness and physical attributes of John Stones or David Hirst. From the looks of that photo, he's worked hard to get there. Hope he gets another shot at it.

We could probably cope with the sale of Hourihane due to the loan players we've got in, although we'd lose a number of vital goals from set pieces. My concern would be what happens when they go back. If they play well, that would most likely be January. For £200,000 players of the calibre of Hourihane are very few and far between. If we had to pay more than that the player would want a wage that our budget couldn't afford under the terms of SCMP.

It makes sense that they're interested but didnt someone say on here that there owner doesn't like spending money so they find cheap replacements? And obviously we shouldn't be selling for under £2 million. Plymouth also have a sell on clause so we want to squeeze a bit more out of them

I could totally understand if he left with him wanting to test himself in a better league but that could ruin his career. He's only ever going to be good enough for the Championship once he has mastered this league and that normally means promotion out of it and starting the first six months in the new level with Barnsley.

The abuse he gets from certain sections of the crowd at Oakwell is appalling and you couldn't blame him if he thought about moving on. I hope not because he creates far more than any player in the last few years.

If Cheski get their fingers out and sign Stones, then given the length of contract he has left we can cheerfully tell Hudds to fk off or stick a really good fee on him in the knowledge that his value will go up if they are too tight to pay

Why would Huddersfield even want him? Some of the all knowing sages on the bbs have decided he's rubbish.

he's going in the right direction and I'm suprised he hasn't been looked at by more clubs already

Huddersfield Examiner today reporting now a third bid has been turned down for Buttercup. If we were to get Hourihane's market worth than there is no way Huddersfield can afford him. He's a two million pound plus add ons player and the likelyhood of Dean Hoyle being willing to spend that on one player i'm quite sure is zero.

If silly money is offered then we would be mad to turn it down, but the shortcomings in his game would be brutally exposed in the Championship.
Personally I would like him to stay and develop his game with us.
We are not short of replacements if he does depart.

2.5M plus a sell on and I'd be happy with that. I'd imagine Plymouth would be as well as they've got a sell on clause on him haven't they?

Doubt any deal would happen. He's in contract still and were in a decent place to rebuff any offer IMO

£50k seeing as all he can do is kick a ball with his left foot

    Which anybody can really.

Hudds are getting relegated anyway. They're due.
