If I'm getting good quality streams via Kodi when it's installed on my laptop, does this mean they will be just as good on the Android boxes? I wasn't sure if my 4mb/s download speed would be good enough, so I decided to try it out on the laptop first. Now I'm wondering if it's only because my laptop specs are better than they would be on the android boxes.
Not necessarily, 4mb/s should be ample though. I stayed in a hotel near Cockermouth a couple of months ago & I was getting just above 1mb/s but kodi ran perfectly on my Galaxy Tab. Have you considered a raspberry pi or an Amazon firestick stick rather than an android box?
Is all this android box + kodi thing legal? (Sorry to sound naive, I just have no clue about this tv technology malarkey)
kids had it on their laptop for ages, I recently bought an android box and it stream just as good if not better
That's what I use mate, I've had one from a couple of weeks after they 1st came out, had the pi 2 since it's release, the b+ ran xbmc/kodi very well but the pi2 took it to a whole new level. Brilliant bit of kit!
Best bit about them is you can just change the sd card to change the operating system, go from a media centre to a juke box, to a retro games console, to a fully working and fairly capable pc in seconds, the pi 2 is less than £27
I heard some good things about the raspberry pi the other day, but couldn't find much about them. Are they plug and play or do you have to do a lot of messing around setting them up?
Maybe you should run 'a night with gazred and kodi and pi 2' for us thickies on here for us to understand all this if it's that good. Seriously, when could you do it? ????
I would urge you to stay away from pi. You'll spend the rest of your natural life on here, saying "so what do I do next then" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lol. Tbf I've said from day 1, people still need a basic understanding of Kodi, to run it properly. First sign of a glitch - and there will be one - and some people will be on here blaming Ben Mansford Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I could certainly point you in the right direction & tell you the websites I learned everything I know about the pi from. I'll have a bit of a look over the weekend & add it to this post. Not now though, it's been bloody long day & I'm off up the wooden hill...
Not strictly true... Have a look at this- http://www.tvaddons.ag/streaming-to...&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=socialnetwork
