http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...rience-like-Liverpool-did-Steven-Gerrard.html I found this fairly relevant to us in a roundabout way too. Our transfer philosophy has brought in some great young talent. What we're desperately lacking is someone to set the standards around the club. A couple of players who haven't had a career buried in social media. Ones who still talk and can influence just with thier presence or by being watched. It also reiterates how important the likes of Bobby and Foster were to us. The management of 32-34 year olds at Barnsley has been abysmal since Mark Robins left. It's no coincidence that weve been caught in a downwards spiral since showing such an ignorance to the older pros. Don't get me wrong I like our new transfer policy and it's absolutely the right way to go for a club like ours. But at the same time their has to be some flexibility and I'm sure a couple of older heads could only benefit our group. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
Couldn't agree more. No way should Hassell have been allowed to leave. Foster was a bit different as he had a recurring back injury if I remember right but players like them should be kept around the club.
