..........I thought that was a tense tight game with lots to commend it. Didn't find it boring at all. Confirmed for me that Winnall needs to up his game, and we still need more drive, down the flanks and through the middle. Much more promise than last season overall. Enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it pal. Personally thought it was fcukin dreadful to watch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not a brilliant performance, but I don't understand why people have described it as boring either. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
It must be your time off the month! Assuming you have not had your Nuts Scythed off in some Eastern Block Country
Only your opinion. Some have never got over the departure of DW and find it hard to sign up to the new regime
I'm completely on board. If there has been any improvement I don't see it. Or can you show me the progress from say beating Burton 5 nowt and poxing a one nil or beating Bradford 3-1 and scraping a nil nil. Maybe I'm missing summat? Would you like to explain how the last 2 performances were an improvement over the comparable matches last season. Keep it simple for poor souls like me.
Agreed. We played some very good football at times, but we struggled to break them down. Typical Phil Parkinson side. Get eleven men behind the ball, then hoof it up to two lumps upfront. Their season tickets might be cheap, but I'd rather pay £300+ and watch some decent football being played.
I think you need Red Rain for a tactical analysis. And I agree we poxed it last week. But I do find today's efforts more pleasing, and more attracting optimistism than last season's. If I have not been to the match then I feel it inappropriate to comment, so I am not sure of our away performances. But I feel that, player for player when compared with last season, we are on the right track. Would you prefer this line up to the one we have now? Davies, Brown, Dudgeon, Berry, Nyatanga, Cranie (C), Treacy , Hourihane, Winnall , Abbott, Lita . Subs: Hemmings, Jennings , Digby, M'Voto, Bree, Cole , Turnbull Maybe you would
We were good at Millwall and awful against Chesterfield like last season we are a work in progress. The best football I've seen us play for years was a purple patch up to chezzy away last season. Other than that we have been poor to average through many years and managers including our current one. I want us to stick with him and be successful much like I felt about the last one. No tactical analysis needed. Were the 2 performances against the same teams better or worse this season. Straightforward question.
One was in the cup and that's a different kettle of fish. We were better than Bradford last season, but many think it was the best we played all season. It was a great game. What does that prove? Owt could have happened to Bradford, or us, or Burton, in the meantime. My point is that I don't think we were awful, or was it a boring game.
I think many folk just want to see kamikaze football with loads of goals and also see us win! I've been around a bit longer than most of the daft lads who post on here and so it probably affects my view of the game. I enjoyed it! A tight match with few chances maybe but always interesting and some good football. My first sight of Crowley and the lad is class for certain. Only way Bradford could stop him every time was to foul him. Of course the semi blind ref couldn't see that and in the end Crowley lost it and grabbed the ref. Fortunately the ref was so weak he didn't show the red card. Also first game for Wabara and Harris so too early to comment on them. I thought we were the better team for most of the first half and the start of the second. Bradford bossed the last twenty mins and I guess you could say LJ's substitutions didn't work! In the end, we were lucky that they missed a sitter one on one. However their keeper made two good saves from Winnal and Pearson and we nearly pinched it at the end as well with the header against the post. We've got a very young team with some good players. Note that I say nothing about tactics cos mostly when folk talk about them, they talk a load of ********.
Very good point. We just havent strengthened key positions, absolutely nothing up front. Winnall is no good on his own, doesnt have the strength or size to hold the ball up, doesnt have the pace to get in behind but what he does have is work rate and the ability to finish, he's a goalscorer and needs a strike partner.
