Remember soton doing this when they were skint with Spurs regarding the Gareth bale deal and there are a few media outlets running a story where Everton will offer us a couple million in hard cash to remove the sell on clause for stonesy. Under no circumstances should this be allowed to happen. For once we need to stay strong via this lad is going to end up leaving for 40m+

It won't happen, we stand to make a fortune so can't see it happening

Does anyone have any idea whether it is the next sale we benefit from or all future sales? Just thinking that when he leaves for Chelsea this summer for £40 million, and after he's captained England to glory in the Euros, he'll go for £80m to Madrid no fuss.

It won't even be considered by the club. Southampton were in dire straits and really had no choice than to be exploited in this way but we have no reason whatsoever to even give an offer like this a second thought.

What's Everton's alternative? Keep a player that wants to leave just to spite us and lose them £30+M? Oh aye, that'll happen. Martinez & Kenwright would be out of the club quicker than **** off the proverbial.

There is no legal basis upon which Chelsea would have any obligation to pay us anything if he moved on from there as we have no contract with Chelsea on the matter.

Chelsea no but if Everton put a sell on clause in and Chelsea sell him to Barca for 80m then Everton will get say 20% of the c40m profit, we can get our 15% of that as it is profit made by Everton. All depends on the wording of the clause though.

The clause for Gareth Bale was bought out well before he was sold, not at the point where they were just about to sell him.

According to the Sun, Everton have attempted to buy out the £4.5million sell-on clause for around £2million less.

To my knowledge, Everton have been in touch about this on 3 occasions since they realised how good a player he is. I was told that they have been turned away on each occasion.
