Just how on earth has he not played on the football league before now. What an absolute machine he is.

All the lads were good tonight, but Scowen and Roberts are playing far below their level in league 1.

He was cracking. I think he has some sort of magnet inside his head that attracts the ball. Good with his feet as well.

When we first signed him I though he'd be back up at best. Turns out he could well be our most important player this season. Amazing.

Just been saying the same to my brother. So long since we've seen a proper centre half at Oakwell in the Futcher / Taggart / Arjan / Moses mould. Let alone a partnership, but along with Mawson that's exactly what we might have found. I just hope neither of them gets sold too quickly.

I like Roberts a lot but I thought the defences of both sides were all at sea tonight. Rather than 3-5 it could easily have been 6-10. In the end we couldn't cope with Everton's attack, but we were still creating chances ourselves. Surprised there hasn't been more praise for Hourihane who looked immense.

Just been reading Everton forum, quite a lot of praise for him from their fans.

The complete package. I cannot for the life of me understand how he hasn't played league football before now.

And what a great, complimentary partnership with Mawson. One thing for certain is if it ain't at left back right now, Nayatanga doesn't start and he has been ok this season.

Genuinely must admit I've been uncertain about Roberts so far. Obviously physically strong and imposing, but has looked uncertain on the ball at times and perhaps prone to a mistake. I was definitely reserving my judgment.

Well I take all that back. What a performance yesterday. Even though we conceded 5 that must be one of the best individual defensive displays by a Barnsley defender I've seen. Strength and power matched with composure on the ball and great distribution. What a find this kid could be - Halifax, Buxton and Worksop? How on earth has nobody picked him up before now?

Excellent performance from the lad, hope he keeps it up and we can keep him here.
