And neither did I, in the end. So here's a big thanks to Joe Root!

After Joe won us the Ashes in Test Four I ditched the Sky sub, which I'd put on for a month just for the cricket. So I was at the Well last night to witness one of the best games I've seen down there in years. Well done to the team, management and all our supporters!

I have been to a few games over the years where we have been the giant killer. We didn't kill the giant off but I felt the very same pride and ellation as I did back then. Every player showed skill, commitment, passion and desire. I like our team right now and when the expected youthful inconsistency comes around, I'll remember what we can achieve at our peak.
