It was well publicised that LJ and Ben both announced we were going to do our 'business' early and not follow previous deadline days?!? Just putting it out there, not necessarily my views but it's a fact and one that I can't recall anyone mentioning(I don't read every thread). So it just might be that we're going with what we've got. No squad is ever complete even eventual champions! Recruitment is as were told a 24/7 365 day operation. Discuss...............
One of the core reasons behind the early bird campaign cited by the club was to ensure the war kitten was full early on so the budget for players cojld be set accordingly and the team built prior to preseaon to allow time to gel.
That's fair enough CS but even a blind man can see where our squad is paper thin and in desperate need of strengthening. There really can be no excuses now when we lose players to injury and suspensions. We've had long enough to get this sorted out.
I'm not expecting any more signings today. Loads of holes in our transfer dealings, IMO. It is what it is I spose... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I dont believe for one minute Johnson is happy with his squad multiple targets identified and barely any delivered, I bet he's thinking exactly what the previous managers were thinking at this stage in the season, oh dear, think I mightve been sold a pup.
As an outsider I would question having 6 players on loan already before the transfer window shuts. What happens if a couple of your non loan players get injured ? Thats when most teams start using the loan system but you are just going to end up with a squad full of players who you can only play 5 on a matchday? Bizarre strategy.
It's something that as been questioned on here on a number of occasions, I'm expecting a very quiet transfer window, what about you lads? Are you expecting any incomings or outgoing?
Well we signed Nathaniel Mendez-Laing ( another broken toy for Keith to fix) last week. Nothing expected - could do with re-signing our contracted players which is always a worry as we cant afford 3-4 year contracts . Jamie Allen is the main priority so we can finally get a fee which reflects his huge promise when he inevitably goes. Really need to sort him out with a new deal - he's now our captain so should be our top earner.
You're right to question it. It's bad management, genuinely can't believe how many think it's a good move
Given the comments attributed to PC about Smith and SCMP, you have to wonder if the wage demands are way outside our structure or that our budget isn't what we are led to believe...
