I must also be happy clapper, as i dont think this is a weak squad either. It has its weaknesses, but to say its weak all round, is just wrong, imo. Possible line up for Saturday,if we play 442- Davies Wabara Mawson Roberts Nyatanga Watkins Pearson Scowen Harris Winnall M Smith Townsend Bree Hourihane Williams Wilkinson Crowley Smith That looks decent to me, strong team, with plenty of options off the bench. Could do with more striker and maybe defensive options, but i reckon we'll win more than lose with that 18 in which ever formation. For the record, i would want Hourihane on the pitch, just cant squeeze him in in that formation.
I agree with this. At the start of the season I think our squad was very weak. Not the players but the experience and depth of coverage. Since then we have added Williams, Townsend, Wabara permanent and signed a number of loans, several with potential to sign full time. We have cover for all positions now, although still without a lot of experience and not in great depth. LJ called it phase 1.5. It carries some risk but this is the plan, it isn't this way by accident so we will have to see how competitive we are by Christmas when the phase 2 kicks in.
Still not addressed 3 key issues for many of us which are - Nyatanga at left back Little experience No leadership
I expect us to carry on as we've started , lift off against Everton crash and burn against Rochdale a season of inconsistency with question marks against LJ every other week . Hoping for a play off spot but it feels like a mid table sort of season already
