    I saw that this morning and thought the same I think we have had many past discussions about the Fifa world ranking system but it is clearly flawed

    "Wales and England are both above European champions Spain (11th) and Netherlands (12th)"

    and Belgium are second - really the second best team in international football? I dont believe it

    That said Wales have definitely got a much improved side these days and should qualify for the Euros which is good to see

    Wales got 1485 points for beating Belgium because of the stupid system which says they get more points for Belgium being ranked second and more again for Belgium being European plus more for Wales being European. Then 1305 for beating Israel so in two games they've got 2790 points.
    In the same year England beat Lithuania and Slovenia in the same competition at the same stage and only got 795 and 1140 points totalling 1935.

    The rankings are a poor mess to be honest

    The FIFA rankings are just not representative of the reality of the game.

    Is 10th in the world bang average, I don't know. And didn't they have us ranked 6th before the world cup? That turned out well again - for such a good team.
