ended by sending a message to the fans and players. “We’ve got some good players, it’s mine and my staff’s job to find the right blend to make us consistent through the whole match not just ten or fifteen minute patches. “I saw a few little things set in today that will be 100% stamped out by me. If they aren’t then those players won’t play or will be moved on. I have to trust my personality is being put out onto the pitch.” Mmmmmmmmm, whos he referring to there then? Think he also said we play well in patches, which I totally agree with. We have some decent players but have to come up with a proper formula. Its like he doesn't fancy Houriane in 4 man mid field and therefore accommodates that (because of his very good scoring and assist record) by almost picking a team around him.
I'm assuming he's referring to Crowley and Hourihane, given that he took them off. I'd guess the things that don't "reflect his personality" are running with the ball through midfield, making quick forward passes, and shooting at goal.
He knows what he's talking about and I like his honesty so I'm convinced things will come good It's frustrating though as we've shown in patches of games that we're good, but have yet to put a 90 minute performance together
Said on radio sheffield that, although he was happy with Crowley's performance in an attacking sense, defensively he was poor.
Worries me that at home against one of the divisions poorer sides playing one up front that he cared about the defensive duties of his attacking midfielder. For a positive guy he's the most negative manager I can remember and I include Mel Machin in that with his legendary 8-1-1 formation.
