Let the battle commence. Only one winner by the way. All depends in the team as to the winner. Don't give a flying f$ck either way
Yes Sir. You can swing both ways if you like! Having met you I didn't think of you in that way Now if your on about Mr Whitey then that's like opening Pandoras box
Shouldn't it be happy clappers v the manic depressives? I am a happy clapper that's a bit depressed after the last 2 games.
Given your incessant bashing of 'happy clappers' I would dare to presume you do give a flying fck. Or perhaps you just enjoy the confrontation?
Football fans can't be realists, if they were then we would lose our optimism, enthusiasm, hope for success. Just keep clapping happily or not Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
The only confrontation I have these days is a pint of Coors Light! And a good evening to your sir! Many regards
I'm a doctor of the African variety. Witch Doctor! Talking of witches good evening to the mother in law
I'm neither. You can't be a realist as a football fan otherwise we would all support Manure or Barca. At the same time I only clap when there's summat worth clapping for.
Surely there are three camps. Happy Clappers, realists and right whinging gits? There are plenty of the 1st and 3rd option but not many of the middle one kicking about on here.
Some people moan for the sake of it Some people are easily pleased Some people just go to watch football and don't give a ***** about all the behind the scenes stuff Some people just tell it as it is.
Not directed at the OP, just a thought on realism. The beauty of football is that the outcome of the next game is always unknown. That's one of the main reasons we all keep coming back: because the script is unwritten the game is exciting. An optimist believes we're going to win, a pessimist believes we're going to lose, but the suggestion appears to be that a realist knows what's going to happen either way, the true strength of our squad and our fortunes for the season. Because we don't know what will happen in the next game, because results are so unpredictable, I don't believe you can be a realist as a football fan. Anyway, more often than not, those who describe themselves as realists are actually pessimists who don't like the negative connotations such a label brings. I believe the most sensible and grounded stance is to admit that we don't know what is going to happen and remain level headed whatever the result. That would make you a pragmatist. I'd like to be there myself but I appear to have fallen in to pessimism this season.
I'm trying to get my head around the growing opinion on here that being optimistic about your team is a bad thing. The term being used is 'happy clapper'. If you see anything positive in a defeat or draw you're blinded to the management's, the player's and the owner's failings and clearly know nothing about football or real life in general.
Some folk on here come on and try to paint a rosy picture of events when clearly things are not. Call it blind faith or whatever you want to call it. Maybe that's where the Happy Clapper phrase originates from. At the end of the day its just a bit of banter imo and some people overreact to the term. It's only a footy forum for f@cks sake not life or death. I would like to think EVERYONE on here wants a winning team. Things would be more harmonious on here if that was the case. But we're not winning very much and appear to have appointed another Dud at the helm the way things are panning out. It wouldn't be bad if Lee Jay started learning from his mistakes but the guy just keeps on making them over and over again. Let's hope to beat Swindon with a more convincing display than of late.
