Giving a manager a full transfer window and sacking him as soon as it closes offering the new guy no opportunity to improve the squad is just stupid.
For me that comes back to loans. Clubs think they are safe changing managers as soon as the window shuts because they can just loan players to get them through. I think the loans are a big part of the sacking culture from that angle too
They're on 6 points, we're on 7 points. They've lost 2, we've lost 3. We've scored and conceded double the amount of goals they have. I can't see that sacking as anything other than harsh. I don't know if he's any good, Dickov, and I'm not privy to what may have happened behind the scenes. But if it was **** last season, then why not make a change in May? Saying that, we did summat similar with Davey... Sacking season is upon us, already. Football's mental.
I've never understood the mantra amongst club chairmen and some fans that a former player will automatically be a successful manager based on nothing more it seems than 'he knows the club'.
Agreed. 6 games is a joke. Someone should sit all football chairmen down and give them a basic lesson on the concepts of variance and regression to the mean.
true, I know he wasn't our player at the time but its sometimes worth taking a gamble like Allan Clarke and hope to doesn't go something john hendrie
stupid pikeys.....they want redders now who has a moderate record at best.....hope he sinks the pikeys if he gets the job
I'm just going on the fact that Redfearn was supposed to be in Redfearn's on Saturday but had to cancel because something really important had come, I'm probably putting 2 + 2 and getting 5 like
Dickov is really mediocre. It's a surprise in that the season is so young. It's not a surprise in that Dickov is/was a proper barrel-scraping appointment. His next job is bottom-end League Two if he's lucky.
Redders has been at every Huddersfield home game so far this season, maybe because it's local to him, I dunno.
First of my 3 bets to come in at the start of the season, Dickov at 12-1, Harris at Millwall 18-1 next and then Johnson at 15-1.
