I would love to think that Rooney and Elizabeth were having a personal battle to see who would get to their landmark first.

I think she'd be a bit too young for him

    Freddy Mercury?

you surely can't be referring to that woman who spends time at Balmoral on taxpayers money? who's granddaughter spends all her time swanning around the world with her boyfriend, both on taxpayers money? Who's family was ashamed to admit that they were Germans so changed their name? Who's uncle was a Nazi sympathiser? No, surely not her. Didn't they behead her and her nefarious clan yet? bring back Oliver Cromwell!!!

he's Greek, where did the true monarchy go? the ones we have now are usurpers to the crown. And next in line is Big Ears.

I know this has been done to death but the Queen and her immediate family generate far more income for the Bitish economy than they receive - they are a huge net asset. Whether you agree with the principle of a hereditary monarchy is a different question but economically it makes sense

Must disagree with this. What exactly does she and her family of scroungers actually do to generate income for this country?

Tourists coming to this country come to see our history, stately homes, castles and countryside. Never any chance of meeting Betty and having a cuppa at Buck House.

The country would IMO do equally well without the parasites.

Time for the monarchy to be got rid of along with the House of Lords.

Im not so sure - I suspect that there would be a dip in tourist income if the monarchy was abolished - but I have no idea how big this would be, I also think you are a bit harsh on Liz calling her a parasite - but I might agree with you on some of the lesser Royals. I have no idea how many business deals are won at high level when we wheel in our Royals I think they definitely help at a high level but again no idea how to quantify that - and of course I may be wrong and they scupper more deals than they help close - but I doubt that

I expect they have little relevance when it comes to business, the same way they have little relevance to pretty much anything in a modern society. I feel that a modern democratic society should, in general, promote a meritocratic attitude towards life. Having someone be the notional head of state simply due to accident of birth cuts right across that.

OK your first point. People come to this country but I very much doubt they plan their visits when she is at home. What happens when she buggers off to Oz (at our expence). I do believe they still come to visit.
Somehow I do not believe she has any dealings on the success of any business deals. Sad state of affairs if those deals depended on her or her inbred family.
FFS I very much doubt she knows how to use a door handle. TBH I've never seen her use one.

For me the royal family is a spent force. Might be your queen but no way is she mine.

Please don't tell me you are in full support of this royal family and all the lavish trimmings that go along with them when we mere mortals are living in a state of austerity and some folk find themselves dependent on food banks. Also children being sent to school without having breakfast because parents find it hard to feed them. This might not happen where you come from but my nephew who is a teacher in Dundee tells me this is very common. Terrible in this day and age but I very much doubt HRH could give a flying fk.
