Bit of a stupid analogy Supercop , having regularly caught the last bus out of Barnsley bus station in the 70s , the 11-15 pm to Rawmarsh depot via Kendray and Stairfoot, every one knows that a riot does not stop a bus being used as a public toilet

He's wrong supertyke there's no excuse as there's no excuse for the police to not let fans use the toilet, the strategy of keeping the fans back could have been implemented without that tactic .if there were no questions asked as the what do the fans do for the toilet in the planning of this strategy then God help us.
There was no announcement that said if you need the toilet please go at such and such a time as they will be off limmits at end of game that MAY be excused but they didn't.
Someone could have held out for the toilet so as not to miss any of the match then been denied.
If this had been implemented anywhere else but a football match questions would have been asked.

Stopping access to the toilets was never the plan. That was only implemented when fans started kicking off trying to get out making the concourse (which houses the toilets) unsafe and so to control the crowd they closed off the concourse and subsequently the toilet.

The polices fault in that is that they should have anticipated that the very fans they were wanting to stop getting out for safety were always likely to respond badly to being topped going out. The fans fault in it is that they are hooligans who caused the lock in in the first place and when asked to remain in (which let's face it wasn't the biggest humanitarian crisis in the world) they kicked off forcing the concourses to be closed. The clubs fault in it lies in the fact that they surely know who the small minority of trouble causers are yet they somehow still allow them to obtain tickets to away games

I've no concerns of fans being asked to stay behind especially if pre warned before travelling g if possible.
I've no concerns about the police trying to contain hooligan fans and weeding them out etc?
My concern is the denial of a basic human need that if not attended to can cause great distress, embarrasment and pain and in some cases
    Irreparable damage.
Whether some fans were trying to get out from the concourses or not surely that should have been foreseen and planned for without the need to deny toilet access's.

That's very different from the response I got from a gentleman at Derbyshire Police.

He admitted to me that the force had made multiple errors on the day and assured me that there would be an emphasis on correcting what had gone wrong for future fixtures. We had a call for a good 20 minutes and I explained what I saw happening and he fully agreed with my interpretations. He was then going to a meeting with the club and the force to discuss matters and asked my permission to use my ideas which I of course agreed to.

Just saying but I've been on planes where people have been allowed into a toilet on a runway , why a conductor would prevent you going to a toilet I'm not sure and teachers tend to know which pupils are trying it on and who is genuine

The bloke that 'feigned illness' . . . were the police and stewards aware by looking at him from a distance that he was feigning? Because they stood there looking at him for several minutes before any attention was given. In fact, 1 officer even stood over him.

You ask if problems would have materialised had we been winning. We weren't, so its completely irrelavent. At grounds up and down the company, people leave when they're losing. The problems materialised solely due the the heavy handed policing and the refusal of access to the facilities.

I've been to hundreds of games up and down the country. I've never before witnessed policing like I did that day. I could write papragraph after papragraph of examples of unnecessary and heavy handed policing from that day, but as I said at the time, whats the ****ing point.

So have I but they didn't used to let you on planes or trains when in the station or on the ground. Something to do with the way the waste was removed. Teachers can guess but they don't always get it right, I remember a friend being told no only for them to piss their pants

If you need to piss on a train in a station piss. No ones going to threaten you with arrest or a baton.

So folk at a football match, including some elderly should be kept from going to the toilet because sometimes at school your not allowed to the toilet by the teacher? Good f*ckin god.
