    I think it's correct, in my last year at Juniors there was a competition to design a badge for it, l started secondary school in '89.

    Thanks for that... Yes, that does sound right.... Remember going to an ITV Telethon event there, seem to remember it being a 24 hour swim thing...

    Certainly second half of the 80s (so 89 sounds right) as I remember going from Junior school just prior to public opening.

    I remember a teacher organising after school trips to there and donny dome ice skating when I was in about 2nd or 3rd year of high school
