    Tax credits should be scrapped full stop, terrible idea having tax payers subsidise businesses to pay low wages.

    I think the grumble is that the credits are going before the businesses make up the loss of income.

    Whether this is true or not I do not know.

    But you must make the employer up his wages from a pittance, rather than let the government say "you're shafted" to the lowly paid employee.

    Agree... Child support should be paid full for first child, half for second... Then if you choose to have more... That's on your own head...

    I might be biased as I can't have kids (with Whitey on this) so why should I subsidise!

    Pretty much what I said in another post on the same subject last night. It's a good idea in theory but whether it works in practice remains to be seen.

    Personally I think every memebr of the family no matter how old should have and be able to pool their tax allowance. So a family of four can earn 40k before paying tax but a single person should only get 10k.


    And get rid of child benefit all together.


    Also grand parents should be able to move in. This would allow both parents to work and a two parents, two grandparents and two children could have two earners bringing in 60k and not paying any income tax.

    This would leave grandparents to do the childcare. Save millions on subsidising day care. Have someone to help the kdis with homework, a steady familiy less truancy, more respect for elders, free up housing and jobs, reduce crime and reduce the amount of heating so solving global warming reduce food wastage and improve overall health as a proper meal would be cooked by grandma instead of everybody eating junk food.

    In fact everyone's **** would also smell like chanel no 5 this idea is so good.
