    if Europeans were refugees and we forced ourselves in mass into Iran, Turkey or Saudi Arabia, the guns would have been in action, and we would have been killed in droves.

    There are over 50,000 Germans living in Turkey. Over 34,000 Brits living in turkey. Turkey has 25,000 refugees living in it right now

    I know the OP grouped us all together as Europeans but we certainly can't be grouped with Germany during the last war.

    They are being. Last time loads of physically active muslim men in these numbers appeared at their borders it was an invasion leading to centuries of occupation.

    Merkel screwed it all up, first she welcomes them with open arms, and naturally they head in mass for Germany, then she has second thoughts when she saw the volume coming to them. Consider a cistern where water is flowing in and out at the same rate, then the outlet is throttled, water backs up and cistern overflows. So in this case Germany throttles back, Result is that Austria starts filling up and then Hungary, so natural reaction is to throttle back on the inflow, borders are closed, tempers flare and we are where we are now. Croatia to close its borders tomorrow.

    I agree completely I was highlighting the idiocy of the original statement rather than blaming us. I guess over the centuries we as a nation have own share of atrocities to fess up to. From wiping out native Australians to our actions in India to peddling opium in China.
