so for 2 weeks we have to tolerate egg chasing on the TV and the pub being full of these thick set rugby types suppin Guinness and polluting the air with their stench.

Here's hoping England get knocked out early doors.

Rugby at my school (Kendray Oaks Comp) was for the lads too clumsy/not skillful enough to play footy.

Egg-chasing is unwatchable in my opinion.

I now know how our lass feels when the proper World Cup is played. OH, NO, NOT THIS $HITE AGAIN.

Last night was proper rugby, seeing Cas turn over the Rhinos. Hope Fiji win and England get knocked out first round

Why on earth would an English man want England to be knocked out? Baffling bitterness.

League is dying on it's arse. What's the format again this year ? Something like half a season, followed by a restructure half way through, followed by groups of 8, followed by play-offs wherby the winners play the winners of a group involved in another set of play-offs followed by a final of some description.
Any decent league player moves on to Union these days, far better format and viewing spectacle. League has some fine athletes but the game is all about speed and power. Union is more like chess - bit more of a pleasure to watch with a definite strategy.

I've grown up in League heartlands, but even my die-hard mates are struggling to follow the current format.

Looking forward to this world cup. The downside is that because Union has been so popular and Sky have got hold of it, this will probably be the last one in my lifetime that is enjoyable before they turn into the next batch of spoilt overpaid prats, a la football and cricket.

Football or Rugby? Both or one or the other?

    Both for me.

No comparison of course when it comes to the Reds. I'd watch us before any Rugby game.

But when it comes to the national team, I'd much rather watch England play Rugby rather than Football.

I feel the same. Watching England at Rugby Union is more enjoyable than watching the football team.

I enjoy RU full stop. Don't watch much club rugby as it's on sky but I'll be watching every game I can of the world cup (and 6 nations).

It's an absolute piece of piss to follow the 8's and the play offs. If you have more than 2 brain cells. Yes players go to Union for money, but get that bored of not touching the ball and watching forwards crawl around and fly halves kicking, they soon return. Burgess will be back soon. Boreathon kick and clap.

I'll try to care, I'll try to watch some of the games where possible, and I'll try to keep up with what's going on in the tournament overall.

But the reality is, despite my best efforts, I just won't be able to give a toss. Same with The Ashes when that crops up. Other sports bore the life out of me.

I'm coming back in just over a week's time as I have tickets for the England vs. Australia and Australia vs. Wales games at Twickenham.

NBC have the rights over here, but are only showing the Semi Finals and Final. This is a bit strange, as it is the fastest growing team sport in this country at the moment, and the National team are on a high (won the London 7s, Men's and Women's teams both going to Rio, etc.)

My cable provider is doesn't carry Universal Sports, so it's PPV per game for me on the iPad.

Who's the USA winger who does 100m in about 10.5s? His name escapes me.

I'll watch every England game if possible. Always watch England at Union.

    Never watch League full stop.

    Each to their own.

Should be a good game tonight.

Tough match for England, Fiji a decent side with some very good players who perform throughout the season in our conditions.
