I never said id stop supporting my team Bill.

Just finding going a chore. I want to go to the game and see us at home taking to the opposition. I want to feel optimistic well try and win a game If we lose and have had a go fair enough. Not this try not to lose style we are playing. And still doing our best to snatch defeat from the jaws of a bore draw.

Its a difficult one, personally if I still lived in Barnsley I would still be there every week as I used to be.
Now its different and I can't get to as many as I used to anyway, but I do know this when I can't get to a game I'm not as disappointed as I used to be and after driving about all week for work even when I can go its a bit like dragging myself into the car and like going out of a sense of duty and that's not how it should be.

The best way to get people on board it to deliver the goods, or should I say TRY and deliver the goods.

Us fans don't expect perfection and Rome wasn't built in a day and all that but I grow weary at the the same old mistakes being made week in week out.

We all make mistakes but it helps if you try and learn not to repeat the same errors again.

Lee Jay is doing just that but there is still time for him to change his ways

If you stop going you've ceased to be a supporter. You may still call yourself a barnsley fan but not supporter. How would you be supporting if not attending?

I lost interest when we was in the championship it wouldn't have been too bad if we could have competed but 90% of games we were under dogs and season after season was a struggle to survive. I went to quite a few games when flicker was in charge mind in the great escape enjoyed that.
When we dropped a league I have got the bfc 'bug' for going again the football under Wilson and Johnson hasn't been great to watch for the majority but it good to see us compete and I'm convinced we will have a good season soon.

If results, performance or league position I'd have stopped going down years ago (McSevenney) .

I can appreciate with prices etc some are thinking of ceasing their support that's fair enough and up to them .

For the die hards its not because they have the better fan syndrome its the ritual, habit, routine its in the blood and in my case as a lot more I'm sure if we ended up in ryman league playing sh it we'd still be there supporting (suffering)

if Donny match (if I go) is anywhere near as dull as the rest of this season, I am done wi aways this season and until the manager goes I am afraid.

it's just not worth the cost and effort

The main problem being a human one, so much movement in management these days that managers naturally want to hold onto their jobs, so not losing became more important to them than real success. A real tragedy in the lower leagues.
