Udders tonight, apparently the Pikeys have them miked up to the PA.Also heard them around other grounds on TV. I know they can be annoying especially if your sat nearby them, but they do seem to get fans going and help create a better atmosphere. I Used to enjoy the Ora band but I was in the East stand so not so defeatning for me. Admittedly when the team are going well Oakwell can be a great atmosphere but it could sure do with a helping hand when things aren't going so well on the pitch. So drums or no drums.

What's happening on the pitch will do more to help the atmosphere than a drum could ever do. You're right about a drum being annoying if you're close by.

I agree, that if it's going well on the pitch then the atmosphere is enerally good, but drums can help lift the atmosphere in a flat game.

Clubs who endorse drums and rumble-stix are gay.

Hello, Reading, Blackburn and Fulham. You are homosexual football clubs.

God forbid that we should again go down that (marmite) road.

Personally can't stand the fking things, get some good attacking play going and you don't need things like that, I mean what are we native Americans!! (just threw that in for the more PC types :D )

It's a cymbal of the times. You've just got to roll with it.
