Gally could you please explain why I was banned for 2 weeks

Cheap tickets? I paid 20 for adult and 14 for over 60. Have I missed out on sumert?

Having read Stairfoot.red's post, I feel it was a little harsh to ban him, considering some of the abuse I've read between posters on here in the past.

That being said, I fully appreciate and understand the struggles Gally must face when running this site. At the end of the day it's his neck on the line if anyone takes offence to what is posted on here. Whilst I feel that Stairfoot.red's comments may seem like a strange place to draw a line, I think it's needed drawing for a while. I for one am finding this site tiresome reading at times now when I used to enjoy spending hours looking through my fellow reds fans opinions.

I often find myself double checking what I have written in fear of getting pigeon holed as one thing or another; the thing at the minute seems to be that everyone is getting labeled as a happy clapper or a moaner. Why can't someone just have an opinion without getting ridiculed or receiving personal degradation.

In general I avoid this site now from 5pm on a Saturday until around Tuesday time as I feel you can't pass praise or criticism about anything without being labelled one thing or another. As I stated before, it's wearing a little thin.

I don't blame anyone in this site, it's a mindset we seem to have got ourselves into these days. Social media in particular seems like the ideal place to take out your mood on someone else without consequence. And it's so easy to do. You forget you're talking to/about real people. Again this isn't directly in response to the comments made by Stairfoot.red, as I have read far worse personal abuse regarding both Ben and Patrick online.

I also blame football. I just feel there is so much anger and general disillusion regarding it nowadays. It took me until yesterday to watch the highlights from yesterday. And whilst I have no plans to jack in going to Oakwell, I can see why attendances all over the country are suffering, and the greed and gulf between clubs and their fans needs to stop somewhere. Although it has got to the stage where the damage is irreparable.

Anyway back to the original point I was trying to make; I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion. But we must be mindful of the results of our actions.

If everyone only had 3 posts a day do you think they would be more creative, meaningful and sensible or would they all be wasted on repeated moans, OTT compliments and quips.

 

Thank you for taking the time to respond, as I said in my opening post its your site to do with as you see fit and I respect your right to ban anyone who you feel has over stepped a line, but I find your reason for my ban strange (as do some very long standing posters who kindly offered their opinions in this thread) considering the amount of proper vile and agressive abuse thats happened on here in the past without any consquences for the posters. If you consider what I wrote abuse that warrants a 2 week ban without any warning being given then there'll be no one left on here if things down at Oakwell really go downhill.
We are not going to agree on this what you call abuse I call fair comment, for instance some of Mr Crynes most ardent supporters have called him St Pat and we all know Mr Mansford has made statements re the new scoreboard and early transfer dealings that have simply not been carried out.

Thank you for your time I'll probably just stick to reading posts on here in future and leave the posting to the, I want to say Happy Clappers because I cant think what else to call them and I'm not saying that to abuse anyone I know I'll call them the easily satisfied section.

 

Personally, I hope you post more not less. Not because I necessarily agree with what you've had to say, but because you've conducted yourself in a manner that, should the same happen to me, I would want to live up to. I'd probably fail, but it's good to see how it should be done.

Your comments are more than welcome on this forum as far as I'm concerned.

And I'm not having a go at Gally with the above either. It's refreshing to see a conflict resolved by two reasonable people.
