The long term problem at Barnsley isn't the manager/s

The major problem for me has been the financial mismanagement of bfc under Patrick crynes stewardship. We have been hemorrhaging money requiring us to rely on loans and gifts from Patrick himself just to make ends meet when in reality we have a CEO telling us how high our revenue is compared to our rivals and that has been before we have sold off a significant number of players for large amounts in recent years and seen the millions in revenue from that swallowed up without seeing any significant transfer activity.
A second major problem which is actually linked to the first is the misuse of the loan system under the same stewardship which has seen 100 loan players pass through the door. As I recall from previous published football league statistics that has cost us quite a lot of money in agents fees to arrange each loan, to extend loans and I believe even to end the loans. All the time on assets that belong to someone else. Football players are really the only saleable item of any value that a football club 'owns' and yet our policy has been to borrow them short term instead which has eaten up money with zero chance of making an profit on the players as they are not ours.

In short the club has in my opinion been run shabbily, though with the very best of intentions.

The loans we have are laughable.

Wilko the less said the better, Rothwell has been a waste of time and what the hell is happening with Smith?

If we intend signing him them at least lets see if he is any good!

Can you really imagine LJ sat in his press conference doing the old Mike Bassett "tomorrow we will be playing 4-4 ****ing 2"?

After the Huddersfield game I really thought we were going places under him!

At that time I really thought we had the best man for the job and look what happened.

Hugely disappointing

 

I can only assume we're signing him in January, because why else would you keep a loan player who you've hardly picked, knowing he's about to have an operation that puts him out of action for a month? Normally, considering you're not involving the lad, and, he's now unavailable for the bench even, you'd have grounds to terminate that loan, surely?

I think the Rothwell one is a case of signing him and then a better player (Crowley) becoming available and deciding to sign him aswell. Ive done it many times on FM.

Me too on FIFA.

 

We havent a player to grab a game by the scruff of the neck, nevermind the league!

 

Rothwell is only here to accompany Pearson! Hope we dont get him permanently in January, would be a waste of funds and its not like he's had a glimpse of quality.

 

Wilkinson isn't having an operation yet we still have him for what its worth and that aint a lot.

Dread to think what the financial arrangements of his loan are.

Money slashed up against the wall!!

 

Another sign of extreme stubbornness from LJ IMO, should have gone and got Waring back but had to be seen signing his own player.

Maybe we got slightly lucky then but nevertheless he is a far better player than Wilkinson but LJ was never interested from what I could tell. Stubbornness for me.

Last time I saw him and Rothwell was at Rochdale. I'd have sent em both back there and then such were their performances that day. But, they've had limited opportunities so far, they might well feature and impress as the season progresses.
