I've heard a few good reports about it. I think I'm going to have to try it.

Thanks for the info, old mate. I'll mention it to my Boss and see if she's as interested as me.
Oh, and that sound you've just heard came from my stomach & wasn't a roll of thunder!

Its good but not as good as Mumbai Lounge at Darfield.

All depends on taste and value for brass

Been three times and it is ok. Once very loud customers, once just us and stared out while eating 7/10 curry. Very surprised by trioadvisor ranking. Balti Palace better at Wombwell.

Tried Balti Palace along time ago.

    Its was ok.

To be honest i've tried Indians all over the area and the majority are very nice.

I have fish and chips with curry sauce so I get the best of both. :)

I used to have fish and chips with mushy peas, more traditional

I love fish & chips, especially when I'm on holiday on the East coast. However, I also love Indian food, preferably as an evening meal.

I'm partial to a curry myself from time to time. But statistics now show that curry has surpassed fish and chips as the national meal of choice in the UK. I'm a traditionalist at heart so it's sad to see old traditions passing.

There's a far wider range of curries available than there is of fish & chips, so they're more likely to appeal to a a greater variety of personal preferences.

Wife went with a friend a few months ago, and had waiters watching over their shoulders all night itching to take their plates away. They said theyd both had better curries elsewhere, but their main gripe was with the staff. Surprised at the reviews tbh, I dont think you can beat Tandoori Hut or Darton Balti personally.

I prefer Darton Balti over Tandoori Hut but Royal Spice is also good, tend to alternate between them depending on what I want!

Golf Leaf at Stairfoot and Tandoori Hut best around Barnsley in my opinion.

Us old northerners have sloppy peas. Mushy peas were invented for southerners.

My grandma god bless every Sunday used to make her own sloppy peas to have with home made Yorkshire pudding and gravy for our Sunday dinner starter. Never had anything as nice since. I know the thread is about fish and chips but your sloppy peas comment gave me a happy flash back.
