Given the contracts these players will be on it puts the club in a position where they can start to think about offering new deals early rather than waiting to see what league we are in and if we can afford to offer a new deal, then ultimately having no option but to accept way below their value or lose them for nothing. That essentially is the difference between the signings we are making now and the journeymen we are used to.

We have very quickly managed to build an excellent group of young players. We will lose some along the way and sign some more, but ultimately the players we are left with are only going to develop with age and take the club forward.

You honesty think in 18 months time we'll be pushing for top two in this league?

As it stands this season we are averaging just over a point a game. So 50 -55 points come may.

    Thats lower mid table.

    Be some turn around.

How the hell do you come up with that then Archie when the vast majority of posts talk about a talented squad being wasted by weird tactics

    Absolutely.

If you did your calculations 2 weeks ago it would have projected us in and around the playoffs.

I don't think it would be a "turn around" as the suggests that we are heading in the wrong direction. We are so so close to getting things right and once we do I not only think we will storm this league, but will be much more competitive in the league above in the long term.

I think if you offered LJ total support for 18 months with 100% of the fans buying into what we are doing with a judgement at the end of next season on success or failure he would take it. Mainly because if we aren't at the top end competing by then he himself will admit he has failed.

when harris goes weve got little attacking pace in the midfield.

The player with the ability to ghost past a player vant get his groin sorted.

Theres very little attacking urgency in how we play.

Midfielders dont break the forward line around the box very often.

To win game's you have to score goals.

    So close yet so far...

Totally agree with all of those points. The thread was about continuity of keeping the same manager through thick and thin.

Are any of those points raised a reason to change manager? If we score 6 tonight would you change your mind? Our problem is we ALWAYS think short term and it get's us nowhere.

The entire club philosophy is still around a short term ethos. Loan loan loan three month deal loan.

The thread was about when is it time to cut the proverbial piece of string and end continuity when things are not working...

The above post is far too obviously middle of the road, sensible, representative of the silent majority of those who support the team, and downright obvious that it really was a waste of time posting it.

    Keep your thoughts to yourself.

I think you misunderstand the silent part of silent majority

I was just piping up for them.

It's Red in Brum that actually is a silent one.

I have too many sorry stories of my own on here to claim anything but unpopularity.

Well I suppose we go back to Whitey's poll.

You don't hear the vast majority "let's keep him till Xmas next year" posting all the time. it's more those demanding the manager's head.

We all moan. Last Saturday was not good. We had more chances, we were not "tippy tappy", but we were not good.

A Rotherham fan I know who has just moved into Worsborough (no address supplied) who went to the match was amazed by the lack of atmosphere. When you think about it - he's right. The silent majority, staying silent.

In our case we need to be more vocal at home.

Anyway....the view of Whitey's majority is not reflected in posts on here.
