Was thinking about one before I got the new TV a couple of weeks ago but to be honest the sound on the TV is more than adequate. Previously I had a 720p TV with 5.1 surround system, not really missed it. I think the sound on the new 4K TV's are getting better.

£120 is a good deal on one though if your TV's sound isn't enough.

Tv is a 4K but a like idea of placing sub somewhere in living for a bit of background noise for football or music

It's set up wrong then. Mine used to do that until I used an optical cable to send sound from telly rather than hdmi from Sky box or DVD player. Couldn't get delay in Sky to synch up, which is another option in some cases.

Don't buy from Currys their returns policy is awful. If it breaks down they send it away for repair rather than replacing. Needs to break down 3 times within warranty period to get a replacement.

All depends on what brand you buy. It's the manufacture that decides on the warranty ie repair or replace.

Bought a Sony one half price in Sainsburys sale last year. Cost me £65 I think. It's really good for football, music, films etc... And they are often on offer in there.

You sure? When you buy something the contract is with the retailer not the manufacturer. Mother-in-law had a portable TV that was repaired 3 times within its 1 year warranty. I bought a TV from Amazon the in-built DVD stopped working after 11 months and it was replaced, no quibbles. Avoid Currys.

Amazons return policy is fantastic even if you have used an item they take it back, just as good is Qvc you can use an item for 30 days and still send it back I bought the Bose sound at off em it,s fantastic.

Makes me feel Iold I remember when a telly came with decent speakers Now they put the price down a bit and then try to sell you summat extra so that you can hear it 'better'

It's the quest for thinner tellies impacting on sound quality rather than trying to sell you something else I think.
