Fully agree. The last thing we need is aggression

    Southend fan here in peace.

I was at the game yesterday and if you don't mind I would like to give my opinion if your team.

The number 12 Smith I think his name was was excellent and I would love him to sign for us. He is nasty and determined and was a real pain in our defenders side (a bit like your manager really when he punched Brown in his side). It was a real relief and surprise for me and many of those sitting around me when he was subbed.

Your small midfielder (I think no19) is in the wrong sport, for I am sure that he would make a great Olympic diving champion.

Your tactics were very similar to ours a few games ago, where Brown insisted on concentrating all our efforts to get the ball wide and pump in a hit and hope cross, however he seems to have abandoned that tactic now and we play better for it. I thought you had plenty of possession in the 2nd half and was unlucky to equalize, however you was fortunate to be in front in the first place as the penalty was very dubious (I was sitting right next to where it happened). Having said that I think our goalkeeper should have been sent off.

Personally I think if Barnsley had concentrated more on tactical awareness, rather than trying to cheat then you would have won the game easily.

All the best for the rest of the season (provided you finish below us of course).

Agreed. He's got a right attitude problem has Pearson. He's on loan, he's a crap footballer who needs babysitting by scowen to do his job right (which is our major problem) and on top of that he tries starting fights every week. The club would be better for seeing the back of him

I want aggression as in putting in good strong tackles, not pushing people and getting in their face for daring to tackle him. He needs some anger management classes.

Agree with most of your report, Andy. Harris did something similar in stoppage time on the opposite side of the pitch - had a chance to cross the ball, but instead of controlling it, he toe poked it out for a goal kick!

Surprised you didn't mention our crossing. Generally it was poor, especially given we had M Smith up front (6'4"?). And George Smith's crosses were hopelessly overhit, going out for throw-ins on the opposite touchline. And that was after we'd taken M Smith off!

He struggled all afternoon, George. As did Wabara. So you're right, I ought to have mentioned the crossing. It was as bad as ever.

I did mention it about 5 minutes into the game in another thread, expecting folk to ask me for a link. I'd have gladly PM'd it, but nobody responded.

It wasn't a live stream, a lad I know streamed it from the away end. For obvious reasons, I couldn't link it publicly otherwise he may get in bother.

But seriously, I wish I'd not bothered so you probably got lucky. But next time he does this, if you're daft enough, I'll send you the link no bother.

What? A fan filmed it from the away end and streamed it live? On a scale of potato to imax what kind of quality was it?

It was a view from the away end, so not like tv footage but it was ok. Phone camera footage.

Plugged laptop into the TV, basically like been in the away end.
