I joined this Board in 2009, about 40 years after I first started going to Oakwell.

Fun though it's been, we have made absolutely no progress since 2009, despite the many, many opinions spouted on here, including very many of my own. There is, in short, no magic bullet. We are in a worse position than when we first made the ill-judged decision to sack Andy Ritchie. And what an expensive journey that's been.

The only opinion we can have that counts is the one that leads us to keep attending (or buying a ST) for 2016-17 or not. For me, League Two would be a non-negotiable no-no. Ditto, if I can't see any progress beyond this season. So good luck to the "true supporters" and the loyal ones, who will keep going regardless. But the way it's going, I'll be outta here if nothing changes.

    Best wishes to you all.

The club need to start worrying when supporters of 40 years are calling it a day. I'm not at that point, I'm close though, very close. I do know a couple of lads who have been going 40 odd years and are calling it a day, they've just had enough. Worrying times.

It is sad to see us in the position were we are. Not knowing where the next win will come from. But every club has its ups and downs but your right scince 2009 there has been alot more downs it's quite scary how far we have dropped not just in terms of league position. But teams like Crawley rochdale Shrewsbury beating us. We will come good again I'm sure of that but these are testing times for supporters and for Lee Jay if results don't pick up and more people stay away I'm sure things will change.

I was at a similar point a few weeks ago and made the decision to go less not stop just less and that's after going home and away regularly for over 33years, think between now and the new year I'll be lucky (or unlucky) if I make 2 more matches, going become stale and boring so time can be better spent with the family

I'm not convinced League 2 would be any worse than what we're watching now tbh. I don't think the League you're in dictates the level of entertainment. Having watched a lot of great non-league games over the last few years, I think you can be entertained at almost any level. Value for money is the major factor and currently the vfm rating is pretty low. Many teams come to Oakwell and park the bus, happy to take a point and pinch a winner if they can. Barnsley don't seem to have the ability or tactical nous to break teams down, so it becomes dreadful to watch at times. If that continues, then it's very unlikely that I'll keep paying through the nose for league football. Can pay a fiver to watch Aquaforce or Rec and enjoy the afternoon more...
