Agree with much of what you say, but the question was what effect doom mongers have on results.

I said they increase pressure. That's not me blaming fans for our predicament. That's something that has been evidenced up and down the country at every club, where fans get twitchy and start talking about relegation (in October!)

Playing in front of a supportive crowd instead of a crowd baying for blood is obviously going to be easier. I agree that this situation comes from the manager (I have posted many times elsewhere the things I don't agree with).

However, the negativity, the lack of patience, the fact that certain posters seem to need to post muliple threads saying exactly the same thing, only serves to amplify the pressure. Doom mongering absolutely has an effect on the atmosphere around the club and results.

    So, actually, no, not ******.

agreed some people seem intent on pulling the club down at every chance they get. doom mongering can only have a negative impact on the club WE SUPPORT. allegedly

Its not doom mongering its people airing their displeasure at yet another poor display with precious little to cheer about.

Give us something to cheer, Goals Passion Guts Adventure etc and the mood would soon change.

Its very difficult to become excited with anything at Oakwell at the moment.

What's said on here has zero impact on the club.

He played one target man up front, dropped our main striker and kinda maybe had someone near him called Watkins who's main position is not a striker. 3-5-2 should be played really easily for us.......

    GK: Davies
    LWB: Smith
    RWB: Wabara
    CB: Roberts
    CB: Nyatanga
    CB: Mawson
    MD: Harris
    MD: Watkins
    MD: Scowen or Crowley
    ST: Smith
    ST: Winnall

We'd win with that tuesday night.

Bobby Hassell said after his testimonial that the dressing room was was deadly quiet and you could hear a pin drop - or words to that affect. Think he said they needed some older heads in there - and someone to get them going.

All the warning sigs have been there from the start and Johnson even commented on it when the 2006 team ripped his current side to pieces.

Think we'd all swap our current side for that 2006 squad and playing style right now.

So who decided that older players were no longer to be considered?

PC wants to buy players with resale value and they don't see pros in their twilight years or journeymen as fitting the criteria.

I started to get worried when one of the players (Pearson) admitted in a recent interview that the team would benefit from a couple of older heads. When one of the players finds the strategy weird you know your in trouble!
