I'm sorry but I just don't rate the guy at all, I would send him back to man utd tomorrow! For me he's no better than Stephen Dawson or David Perkins and his constant mouthing off and back chatting to the referee was embarrassing!!

To be fair he had a point moaning at the ref. He'd just been chinned. Should have had a free kick.

It also happened when we would have had a free kick and then scowen took on for the team.

2 bookings a direct result of the ref not giving obvious fouls.

He's suspended so we'll see how we are without him on Saturday.

In his absence we may actually start passing the ball forwards rather side to side or backwards!!!

Not if we only have one striker in front of them or no movement

Who is he supposed to pass to with the total lack of movement?!

    He's far better than both.

Both him and Pearson have not bern as good as last season. I wonder why..,

I think he's ok but haven't understood a lot of the hype & couldn't believe how many were excited when he rejoined us.

Anyway, he was a massive bell end tonight. Talked his way out of Saturday's game when he knows Hourihane's injured & Rothwell's gone.

I hope Johnson shows some balls & sticks Digby or Abbott in there but I fear he'll play Mawson there so he doesn't have to drop any of his beloved 3 centre backs

He'd had a couple of really good games the last two home matches. He let himself down today by mouthing off at the ref. I appreciate what Nez says in that he may well have had a point, but you get decisions going against you all the time on a football pitch and you've just got to let it go.

Again, he looked the best of a bad bunch last night. Not sure who got the man of the match as I was already near the M1 by that point, but he's had it at least 3 times already at home this season, probably 4.

He there's a myth that he doesn't pass forward. He played 3 or 4 killer passes through the heart of their defence last night. One that sticks out was right on half time to set Jackson on his way.

Breaks play up incredibly well, and is good in a tackle.

His temper is something he needs to work on, but the consistent comparisons he keeps getting to Dawson and Perkins are ludicrous.

Scowen got man of the match. No idea why, Pearson played much better than him yesterday - and has actually been one of our better players recently in my view.

Perkins in his pomp was a much better player, and performed well at a higher level. He certainly looked 'gone' when we released him, but for most of his stay here, Perkins was one of our better players and one that the majority of us rated and raved about.

I wasn't ever a fan of Dawson, but he did have a decent spell for us in the Championship, and offered far more in terms of goals, creation and defensive ability than Pearson has for us in League One.

Will Pearson prove better than both over time? You'd hope so, otherwise he's set to have a ***** career.

Can't speak for yesterday, but at Bradford and Southend he was one of our worst players in my opinion, and was lucky not to be sent off, especially at Bradford. Decent at home in the main, not so good away. That's how I see him. If he was our player, I'd be less harsh, less critical. But he's not, and I'd sooner play Digby who deserves a run in the side at long ******* last. We're now without Hourihane, Pearson and Rothwell, so **** the loanee route and actually pick Digby. Or Abbott. Or another kid from the academy. Otherwise, release them. Because what's the point of em being here?

Agreed, Pearson played well. Some outstanding tackles and one of the few who didn't sh17 himself when he had more than a few seconds with the ball (the others were Walsall players). He was wrong to mouth off and talk himself out of Saturday - a leader on the pitch would have shepherded him away (but we have no old heads or leaders).
I don't have an issue with Scowen getting MoM - it was certainly one of him or Pearson - but what I do have an issue with is that it was one of his poorer performances when you compare it to last seasons. So for him to get MoM on that showing really does show what a hole we are in.

What stream of the game did you watch becasue this is a really harsh view on his performance at Southend. At one point in the second half he was single handedly trying to drive us forward. Compare his performance to that of Crowley or M.Smith and they were world's apart.

There were five of us at the game on Saturday and each one of us made him MOTM or placed him second (we do a top three after every game).

Pearson would be the first loanee I would try and sign permanent.

You also thought it wasn't a red card for the keeper. Remember?

It's an opinion I've offered, on Ben Pearson, in a Ben Pearson thread.

I think he's average. Not *****, but not good either. Maybe he'll be good one day, he's lots of years ahead of him and learning all the time. I've seen him play well a few times this season, but seen him play badly more often. Which is pure coincidence, as I was working for the Gills game where he apparently shone, but attended Bradford and Rochdale for example where he was *****.

Others in the side have been ***** as often as he has, so I'm not singling him out. I've not created a thread doing that. I'm merely responding to posts claiming he's better than Perkins and has been doing well lately. I disagree on both counts. And we clearly disagree with each other. I'd worry if we didn't, mate. :)

I would like him full time, yes. It would definitely see me more forgiving. Same with Harris.

    Rest could **** off.

Thing is it's almost like he's got something on the manager because he's undroppable no matter how bad he is. He's played around 50 games for us and his goals and assists would struggle to fill an hand. I realise that's not his job, but if he's a defensive midfielder he's poor at that job too because he's suppose to protect the defense that can't buy a clean sheet. If we had him on loan from Accrington Stanley and not one of the biggest clubs in the world he'd not be as well liked. I believe that even if we win on saturday he will be back in the starting line up against Scunny, no questions asked.
